Of COURSE Omni’s coming. His prior engagement was this weekend. We rearranged EVERYTHING, just for Omni, so he’ll be there. Or he will pay the consequences, bwaa haa haa.
If Omni doesn’t show up, I say we track him down and beat him senseless.
Well, SILENT-BOB, even if Omni does show, there’s no reason why I can’t talk to you about vibrators, too.

YEA!!! I’ll be there. I’ve never met any of you IRL. Am I in for a treat? I’ll learn SOMETHING I’m sure. I’ll be renting a car (my car is untrustworthy at the moment) and driving in from St.Paul, MN - arriving around 5pm on the 21st and leaving sometime sunday. I haven’t booked a room at the hotel yet but I expect to. Special thanks to Valerie for getting me all the info I needed and also to Gaudere for inadvertantly bringing the event to my attention.

Dear God, its a week away and I’m already the whipping boy. Things are going to get a bit ugly, I can tell.
So, do we have a final count of everybody that is coming? Just how many of us are actually going to be there Saturday evening?

Well, I’m going to be there. 
I’d like to know who else is coming, too. I think the email has about 30 people listed, but I have no idea who the emails addies correspond to here in Dopeland.
I’m there, if only to get out of a niece’s birthday party. Sometimes I love living near a major city and transportation hub–folks come here and I don’t have to go there.
May I take a moment to say how sick* you people must be to drive or fly or train hundreds of miles to see people you don’t know? Or is that meet for the first time people you do know? And how do you explain that to your friends and family? With my wife it’s easy because she is a miniaturist and the only time she sees some of her friends is when there’s a doll house show. Fortunately, they’re monthly around here this time of year…

And the winner of this week’s Missing the Obvious Award…
Oh hush, Flypper. You’re just scared of the beatdown Valerie’s gonna put on you.
This is the first time I’ve actually traveled a significant distance just to meet some fellow Internet geeks. Sure, I drove to Toledo once to meet Unclebeer and Sucellus, but that was only a 1.5 hour drive for me. I’ve also been up to Flint twice to visit Persephone and Xploder, but again it’s not that far of a drive (about an hour). The main reason for going to Chicago was for the chance to get away with my husband for the weekend, but now my husband is not coming because we were unable to find anyone to watch our kids for the weekend, plus the fact that he is going to be on-call that weekend for his work.
My hubby thinks I’m silly for wanting to hang out with a bunch of people from the Internet, but he loves and trusts me enough to let me go out of town this weekend without having to worry too much. Besides, it’s not like I do this very often. In the six years we have been together, this is only the second time I have gone out of town for more than a few hours without him. He gets to go salmon fishing every fall with his buddies and usually stays out all night doing that, so I figure I have just as much as a right to occasionally go out for a night too. As for the rest of my family and friends, I haven’t even bothered to tell them about this message board because they would probably have me locked up
