The new IKEA catalog's here! The new IKEA catalog's here!

ooohhh loooOOOOOooook!

The new IKEA catalog’s here!
sniiiifffffffff…aaaahhhhhhhhhh…

Gotta plan a roadtrip! Closest IKEA is near Pittsburgh! That’s just over two hours from here!

WOO-HOO! I got my new IKEA catalog!

awwwww yeeeeaaahhhhh… IKEA!

Feh. Too many 70’s-style prints. Never liked the giant geometric designs in orange and brown even back then.

Now, if IKEA got in a William Morris groove…

We had the new IKEA catalogue. Dave jettisoned it in a fit of cleaning.

I haven’t stopped crying since. I didn’t even get to skim through it.

I did a happy dance when mine arrived, and after a once-over donated it to my friend Eryn, who’s just moved to New York.

You can order on line or by phone now! Bless you, IKEA.

Lola popped her IKEA cherry last week… three trips in two days and now we have all kinds of nifty storage boxes and bins in which to keep our stuff.

Besides that, she has become addicted to Lingonberry juice, it’s like those Swedes (Og bless them) put crack in the stuff.

I love the IKEA catalog. My place is such a mess, that I’ve been looking through the storage options for all of my videos. I am also thinking of remodeling my kitchen so I might have to get the catalog devoted to kitchens . . .

So GrizzRich, I guess you don’t want to hear that a) I got my catalogue a week and a half ago, and b) the nearest Ikea is about ten minutes from where I work (such that my usual shopping time there is about 6 pm, when there are never any crowds)?

Some words of IKEA wisdom from a junkie:

All I can say is, buy the real wood furniture, not that particle-board crap. I’ve had my real wood dresser, nightstand, wall shelves, and bed for over 8 years now, but the non-real wood stuff fell apart a few years after I bought it, and my Billy bookshelves from three years ago are slowly dying.

Their down quilts, by far, are the absolute best you can get for your money, and the quilt covers make it soooooo easy to change your bed linens. The QCs also come in excellent percales (all of mine are 250 or higher) and get better with age and mutliple washings. However, the sheets suck. Go to Wal-Mart or Target; their sheets are cheaper even if you buy 250-percale sateen ones.

RIBBA frames are off the hook, as long as you don’t change the pictures or prints in them too often. Leave them alone, and they look amazing and last forever.

Their candles rock too, and are super cheap, but I wouldn’t count on the scented ones actually scenting anything.

I’ve been ‘thinking cubic’ for about a week now too.

Mmmmmmmm… coffee table… want coffee table… one that’s not made from a plastic crate with all my martial arts stuff insided… big flat coffee table for putting coffee on… IKEA… come to me… I don’t have a car or a credit card… will someone please help meeeeee… whine

As long as I’m dreaming about affording furniture, I want a real bed too

They really need something in Cleveland. I don’t know, a bowling alley maybe a movie theatre or even a Chucky Cheese. But Grizz! You are way too excited over an catalogue.
BTW Isn’t it neet how they put the designer’s name with all the stuff?

Shelves! I need shelves and baskets for my bathroom! And that nifty table with a space for cloth inserts! And dining room chairs! And curtains! Curtains as far as the eye can see!

So, all I need now is a car. And a driver’s license. And money.

I’ll be thinking of everyone when I pop by IKEA this afternoon.

Well… not everyone because that would be a lot of people to be thinking about but the people who really love IKEA.

Wait… that’s a lot of people too.

I need more coffee.

What’s IKEA? The inquiring clueless among us want to know.

Perhaps I should mention that I used to live near DC and would visit the IKEA in Woodbridge VA (Potomac Mills Mall) fairly often.
Since moving to Cleveland, however, my IKEA fix has to go unfulfilled.

As for a bowling alleys in Cleveland…well, there’s plenty. Actually, less than three miles from my house is a bowling alley with NINETY EIGHT lanes! Yeesh!

My nearest IKEA (which I haven’t been to yet eek) is the original IKEA. Yes, bask in my glory. I have no money to purchase the entire contents of The Bible tho. Sniff@Me.

However, I plan on entering their “take a chance” that IKEA Family has here, you can send in pictures of your room and get them to redecorate it for you, including 2 grands worth of furniture. Why don’t we have an excited smiley? I will keep yiz posted on this matter as I am very confident of my chances what with them not having done it in our town before, us having a rather interesting room to work with, and us needing so much storage space, we need to live cubically

I got mine today.

My former manager at IKEA submitted photos of her kitchen for a free remodel, and they did it! It totaled out at over $5000, because she got an entire new kitchen and dining room, plus a cool play area for her daughter. It was featured in the 2000 catalogue, I think.

Not bad, huh?

IKEA

A Swedish furniture conglomerate that offers decent stuff for good money. Their styles can be a tad mundane, but you can get some great deals there.
