The New Movement to Ban Sex Robots. Wait. Sexbots are a thing now?

That reminds me of one of the older Questionable Content webtoons.

Background: The QC world is a variant of our own timeline where AI’s exist and can have themselves loaded into robot bodies becoming AnthroPCs. One of the main characters, Pintsize, is a bit of a perv.

Link sfw-ish.

I think that was a pretty obvious unspoken theme in Asimov’s novels … it was unspoken, wasn’t it? I haven’t read them in a while.

(I have no idea what “Bulterian Jihad” means.)

Sexbots will be obsolete once holodecks or dream control come online. You can then kiss most real life fucking goodbye.

This is my thinking, but at the same time I don’t ‘think’ the proponents of banning sex robots are the same ones who want to ban prostitution, which also reduces the power of sex over men.

In between MP3s, digital videos, online forums, video games, etc. most of us have already kissed the real world goodbye. People spend most of their time in virtual reality (albeit a very limited version that only affects sight, sound and cognition).
