In Planetside 2 it’s when you place C4 on an ATV and gun it towards the enemy. Just as it gets there you blow it up, taking people out. It’s usually a suicide mission.

I know that you can edit the amphitheater. Which other parks can be edited?

I wish the game would allow you to place parks away from the road, like behind houses. I’ve often had to resort to drawing a dirt road just to get the park in the desired position.

What you do is plop a park then open the editor to expand with more parks of the same type. I think Plumbbob is the only park that can’t be edited.

Holy frak, it works! And you can chain the parks away from the road. I guess I’ve never clicked on a plopped park before. Time to do some remodeling.

Got the e-mail regarding the free “Make up” game they are giving away to make up for the server issues. The choices are:
Battlefield 3 (Standard Edition)
Bejeweled 3
Dead Space 3 (Standard Edition)
Mass Effect 3 (Standard Edition)
MOHW (Standard Edition)
NFS Most Wanted (Standard Edition)
Plants vs. Zombies
SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition

I have several of these already… probably going to choose between Battlefield 3 or Dead Space 3.

I have none of these… which should I get? I think my kids would like PvZ. I don’t even know what MOHW is. I’m curious about NFS since I enjoy racing games - how is that on a PC platform?

I just had to laugh at being offered SC4 as an apology for the botched launch of SC5. I may even pick it up, since I only have it on disc but my disc drive has been busted for a while. (Don’t really have the need to get it fixed.)

PvZ is a good tower defense game. There’s actually a serious game under the cutesy patina. It may even be a bit too intense for small kids.

Plants vs. Zombies is an outstanding game that has been enjoyed by every single member of this household, from age 5 to age 47. That said, it’s not very expensive and you can often find it on sale for around $5, so you might want to get something a little more pricey for your free download.

I’ve lot three cities that way. Out of nowhere, the city breaks, and you can’t fix it. The whole region ends up useless.

It’s extremely frustrating.

I both love it and hate it. It lacks cultural features, like zoos, museums, and churches…except for famous buildings. Lame. I always seem to suffer with dried up water pumps and no rain.

The tiny plots annoy me.

And sometimes, problems just will not vanish, like education issues. I had high tech levels, but my industry kept whining about unskilled workers.

Or one building will say, “Where’s the shopping!” next to a wealth equivalent shop whining about no customers.

Yes, I’ve had that happen twice to cities in regions where I am playing with other Dopers.

I was at the zoo this weekend thinking I wished I could build one for my simcities.

It is fairly buggy - I agree with the person who said the game wasn’t finished when they released it. Besides the Rollback issue that will nuke your city, traffic doesn’t flow right and the economics are borked (at least until they turn on the Global Market). I haven’t yet figured out how to make a stable city with > 150k population.

By many reports, you can’t, because the game gives up trying to track that many ‘agents’ and the fake ones don’t really work.

Parks can be edited like most other plots but, yeah, triangles and circles would be nice. Especially circles.

Yeah, but given the irregular roads, you end up with a square peg shaped park in a triangle hole of a block. You should just be able to “zone” park, blacktop, dirt or concrete just to fill in some of the holes.

I feel the same way. I enjoy it, but some of the limitations and bugs are just frustrating, knowing how much better the game could be.

It doesn’t, due to the global market being turned off. You can plop the trade depot and trade HQ, but the prices won’t change.

Depends on how bad the recipient’s traffic is, particularly at the entrance. Moss Yell received 100K from somebody. Thanks to whomever that was, by the way.

There’s also server lag. It may take a while for everything to sync up.

MOHW is apparently a game called Medal of Honor Warfighter. I had to Google it too.
