The new Spyder F3

Is it just me, or has this latest evolution made it look like a souped up lawnmower? :smack:

Very disappointing.

Quoted For Truth

I tried one and did not like it. But then I’ve been riding real motorcycles for many years.
To be fair, it was short, 30 minute, closely monitored ride.

What did you think it looked like before? They’re hideous and I can’t understand why anyone would want one, other than novelty. All the problems of owning a motorcycle with none of the benefits (or all the problems of owning a car, with none of the benefits.)

Tri-cycles are for kids.

It looks like it should be vaccuming up leaves.

And for those without the strength/leg strength for motorcycles. I think the old dudes with the trikes are doing the best they can, at least they’re still riding.

That’s why I have a Spyder RT, wanted to keep riding, couldn’t handle a two wheeler any more.

Okay, one of the benefits.

I have a friend who is over 70 and wants to keep riding, but can’t really handle the two wheeled varieties any more. He hates the idea of two wheels in front so the Spyders aren’t really for him either. The trikes you see are mostly Goldwing or ElectraGlide mods, so very pricey - which isn’t for him either. Not sure what he is going to do.

When I get older and start having trouble with 2 wheels, I can picture transitioning to something like a Spyder.

How are the sales of these things? I think I have only ever seen one on the road.

I’m on my second Spyder RT and have been riding for 4 years.

I decided to go with the Spyder after not riding for 30+ years, to me, it was the easy way to get back to it, I’m 64.

I tested the new F3 and do like the look but decided it is not for me.

But just to be sure, I registered for another test ride in two weeks.

For those that snub their nose at the Spyder, I say “Why should I care what you think, I’m enjoying myself”.

Also, for the people who think a trike isn’t a real motorcycle, if I shoud fall off my Spyder going 70 mph, I would bounce down the road just like I would if I fell off a two wheel Harley.

They have always looked odd to me, but I foresee one in my future when I can no longer hold up a two wheeler.

If three wheels aren’t enough, there are now 4 wheeled street legal motorcycles. A couple of weeks ago I saw a matching pair of these while on a ride. I went

Yeah, us disabled folk need something to ride without spending $40,000 on a Harley trike.

Seems to me that there is a market opportunity here. There are many older motorcyclists who have bad hips or other physical problems which make a trike an ideal choice. However the HD model and even the Spyder are expensive.

I’d imagine Honda producing a mild reliable trike and selling very well.

As my Goldwing riding co-worker pointed out, when he can’t stay up on two wheels he’s buying a Stallion. Less than $40k as well.

Wow, that is even uglier than a Spyder.

Clive Sinclair must be on the phone to his lawyer already.
