The Newtown shooting was really really bad...

Just 2 shots of tequila. It’s good for your heart.

I’d rather read the Onion.

Anyone who would rather read the Onion than Calvin and Hobbes does not deserve freedom.

Tautology.

Yoda: And that is why you fail.

“Abnormalities include… …literal interpretations and miscomprehension of nuance, use of metaphor meaningful only to the speaker… …unusually pedantic, formal or idiosyncratic speech”

Sorry, Calvin and Hobbs just are not that funny. Not like Smoove: Search Area For Remote-Controlled Plane Expanded To Bushes - The Onion

Yes, you are sorry.

It’s OK. I’ll just pity your lack of erudition.

I’ll pity your lack of freedom.

I kinda figured that was coming, hence why I put that little “beyond pedantically” in there. Does understanding you to the point that i’m able to preemptively argue against the point I realise you’re about to make earn me any comprehension points at all? It’s not pedantic that when someone says “this all seems to fit” and less than half does, to point that out. And, again, it’s me, mental health professionals, everyone i’ve ever known and everyone i’ve ever met vs. your opinion. Perhaps we should do a straw poll?

Does anyone else in this thread think i’m coming across as someone on the autistic spectrum?

Honestly, I have no idea why you’re so invested in this.

That’s like me pitying your warm weather.

Just calling it like I see it. Free of charge even.

Would that be the same Supreme Court that stated clearly in US v Miller that a sawed off shotgun is not a weapon in any way intended for the common defence and thus not covered under 2nd amendment rights? My entire argument is that the current interpretation of the 2nd amendment is incorrect. Pointing to the fact that it is the current interpretation is nonsensical. Your position amounts to “The law is right because it’s the law”.

Landmines are a highly effective defense. As a bonus it’s harder to rob a liquor store with them.

Essentially yes. Officers get pistols as a sign of rank more than anything, and there are very few shotguns in the hands of common soldiers. I like that you added rifles in there all on your own though. Not disingenuous at all.

Again, Heller is not the constitution. The constitution is the constitution.

actually no, the first statement was the absurd one. Saying you can’t limit everyone’s freedom in order to ensure public safety is idiotic, and it’s why you can’t shout “fire” in a theatre.

I support gun ownership because I don’t think the danger that guns pose outweigh their usefulness in hunting, lesiure, and self defense. For that matter I support what I see as the original intent of the 2nd amendment, an armed citizenry that can defend itself against tyrrany. Although at this point I doubt the average citizen would recognize a tyrant if they saw one, or be willing to put up the kind of bloody struggle a population armed with rifles vs one armed with predator drones would face.

I’m saying that in most other 1st world countries it is significantly harder to get guns, especially handguns which are responsible for about 70% of gun related homicide in america and, oddly enough, there also a lot fewer massacres and murders in general. Do you want to point out some other obvious factors as to why americans are so trigger happy?
I’m saying it’s still too easy to get guns in america because you keep giving them to people who go and kill school children, again in sharp contrast to the rest of the civilized world.

I’d be surprised if you knew how hot this place can get in the summer months. And generally astonished if you knew anything about Canada.

But in any case, you live in fear of your government and your fellow citizens, consoling yourself by stroking your guns amid fantasies inspired by Punisher comics and Dirty Harry movies, and of course manipulated into voting and consuming as your would-be masters desire. I don’t actually pity you, but I do think you’re stupid.

Like this hot? Temperature in Canada - Wikipedia

I’m sure that feels hot to you, cause that’s what your used to. Sort of like how all your firearms restrictions feel free to you. You know little else.

And what’s to know about Canada? Historically, isn’t your country sort of inconsequential?

Interesting. Might that kind of like being so immersed in over-the-top gun culture - NRA bullshit, gun shows, Michigan militia, Obama target papers, you can’t be a man unless yer-a-shootin’, stand your ground that hoodie might be loaded and whatever else you jerk that little nub you call a dick off to - that it causes you know little else about what sensible gun laws are?
Nah … you’re never wrong, are Kable? You’ll stick to your guns until you accidentally shoot yourself with one won’t you? Gotta admire that kind of stubbornness, I suppose. We had a mule like that once. Couldn’t get the bastard to come in out of the rain. Died of pneumonia.

Why would I want to shoot a guy with a hoodie?

What percent of gun owners shoot themselves?

A lot more than the percent of non-gun owners who accidently shoot themselves with guns they don’t own. I thought you law-and-order types were all about the black and white? Abstinence only, and all that.

And I swear, if you ask me a single thing about sex education my fucking head is going to explode.

I don’t think you’re smart enough to own a gun with dumb fucking responses like the above. What are you, like some Eliza chat-bot program just plucking out phrases to respond to like they are the point anything anyone is discussing?

“Earlier you said, ‘just pretend you want one.’ Do you like to pretend?”

No I’m asking for an actual percentage. Evidently you think its pretty high, so what number do you think it really is?

What do you mean by that?

Another non sequitur, facts must not be on your side, yet again.

And another non sequitur. I don’t remember the context. Quote me.
