The obligatory "Incredibles" thread!

That was the point in the Flintstones and the Jetsons too. Your post merely affirms what I said.

The teacher was about same the height as the seated person next to him. No one I know is as tall as me when they are seated.

Well, if the cowboy was a villain named Mac Donald and went around with a sadistic smile on his face…

“The *public * is in danger!”

:snort:

Pixar likes to do things in the end credits, but moved away from “outtakes” because the jokes were starting to repeat themselves. The current trend seems to be “fun with credit rolls,” as exemplified by tha various cameos during the credits of Finding Nemo and the polygon-stylized look of the Incredibles credits.

“I’m your wife – I’m your greatest good!”

And what do folks think about the short, Boundin’?

At first I didn’t think I’d like Boundin’- but I ended up giggling quite a bit. Poor nekkid sheepie.
The owl was my favorite, though.

I enjoyed “The Incredibles”. There were a few scenes where the majority of the theater was laughing uproarously and I wasn’t, but overall it was quite good.

I liked how Bob went from “typical” sitcom dad, ignoring everything that’s going on, to being at least an attentive dad.

My favorite scene was finding out baby Jack Jack’s powers. And the scenes with the neighbor kid.

It was very cute, especially the owl. Not as brilliant as some of the other shorts.

My husband and I were trying to remember last night, what computer animated movie had the birds on the wire short before it?

I THINK that was Monsters Inc… I’m pretty sure it wasn’t A Bug’s Life, but it could have been one of the Toy Story movies.

Monsters, Inc., definitely.

The short is called “For the Birds.” I’m pretty sure it won an Oscar.

Sorry, but I don’t remember George Jetson OR Fred Flintstone being remarkably big in stature.

ANYWAY, Let me just say that I loved this movie. It was just so… slick.

Fred is a pretty big guy, especially compared to Barny and since he was molded after Jackie Gleeson from the Honey Mooners, I’d think he was a pretty big guy.
I’m going to see it again tonight.

Just came back from this. Great action movie. Strangely enough, I’m still staring at the textures like I’ve never seen CGI before. The sheen of the super suits was great. You can see sweat collecting under Mr. Incredible’s suit at one point. I love the sort of barbie-dollish quality of the people, with all these great human expressions.
At one point, after nearly being accidentily hit by a bad guy’s vehicle, Elastigirl makes the expression “Sunday driver…” Lots of very human little things, nice character animation.

I was surprised the jet was blown up. I was expecting a last minute force-field from Violet, so that explosion was unexpected. I like that the Superkids are all freaked out and convinced they’re going to die, rather than immediately springing into action.

What happened to Mirage, though? I was expecting her to be a secret Super, what with having Storm’s looks. Since that didn’t happen and we didn’t get any backstory on her, I’d have liked her to show up at the end.
On a lot of the big explosions, there was this staticky noise. Not from being too loud, perhaps from being too deep for the theatre’s speakers? It sounded good, though I don’t think it was intended.

My favorite giggle-out-loud part…

Elastigirl getting stuck in the doorway, then another doorway, then another doorway while still whoopin’ the minions.

And checking herself out in the reflection of the door was funny, too.

Great movie! It’s an instant classic. It’s basically everything I wanted Sky Captain to be–funny, good characters, good action.

It seemed like a cross between The Watchman and The Tick, toned down into a just-barely-for-kids-movie. The humans were really well done because they were stylized, and thus on the correct side of the Uncanny Valley.

I think it’s Pixar’s best movie so far, and should probably compete for Best Picture.

It was funny . . . literally three seconds before she did that, I remarked to myself, “Man, ElastiGirl’s got back!”

Hmm. Lusting after cartoon characters . . . I need a girlfriend.

You’re not alone on this Board.

What, no lusting for the drool-licious Mirage?

She looked like Paris Hilton with a tan.

Marc

I thought she was a fairly decent Saturday-morning rendition of Storm.

Well, I was surprised to learn the voice of Mirage wasn’t Kathleen Turner.

Uh, better stay out of Team America: World Police, then.

My OTL and I saw it on Sunday. I loved it and can’t wait for the DVD and sequal.

Edna Mode was hysterical! She was a scene stealer.

I, too, lusted after Elastigirl! :stuck_out_tongue:
