The Office: S4 premiere (open spoilers)

If they do this right, the PB&J arc will now be essentially over. We’ll know they’re a couple. We’ll see them having fun and pranking Dwight and stuff and generally being a little happier, but it won’t be a central engine for storylines anymore and the show can move on to other themes and plot ideas.

I hope you’re right, but somehow, I have a feeling they won’t leave well enough alone… they’ll drag Roy or Karen back into it, or get Pam pregnant, or have Jim propose and Pam freak out, or any number of other stupid things to make it some big saga that never ends until the final episode when of course they’ll get back together and ride off on a white horse into the sunset.

Like I said, I hope they do let it go, but I’m pretty sure that breaks some sort of primetime television rule, so…

I agree with all of this, but I’ll reserve hope that if any show is going to go buck the trend on this, it’d be this one.

That puking line reminded me, I can’t believe they showed Michael actually throw up. That was hilarious. We didn’t get the stupid hurling-noises-into-a-trashcan bit, we got Steve Carrell upchucking some orange-ish brown goop onto the sidewalk. Bra-vo.

There was a brief scene where Ryan called the Scranton office, and got a voice-mail greeting saying that the office was closed for the Rabies Race. It sounded to me like Kelly’s voice on the greeting, not Pam’s. Was Ryan trying to calll Kelly? Is he, against all expectations, missing her?

I think he was just calling the office as part of his normal job. I don’t remember who’s voice it was, but it seems unlikely that everyone would leave a custom voicemail greeting for an office event.

I’m pretty sure it was “come in”–sort of one of those things you say just out of habit, but then he tried to blame it on her instead of admitting he goofed.
