Oh, come on, OMG. Now that Obama is elected he will do pretty much what Romney would do on economic issues, i.e., whatever the plutocracy says. You got nothing to worry about unless you’re a social conservative.
Given the last four years, I doubt that very much.
Cite? (really)
I voted for Obama. In 2008 I was a fan. Since then he has been a HUGE disappointment.
So this election was the lesser of two evils.
The problem with republicans is they are not consistent. They killed Kerry for flip-flopping then get a guy who flip flops more than anyone…well…ever. The guy has been on every side of every position.
Republicans lack the courage of their convictions.
Bwah-ha-ha-ha-HA.
Give him a hand, ladies and gentlemen, OMG a Black Conservative. Tip your bartenders!
Krugman gives the roundup: So, for a while there during the campaign it seemed very iffy. But in the end, discipline and being on the right side of the issues prevailed. Yes, Elizabeth Warren won!
Oh, and that guy Obama too.
Tomorrow — or I guess today — comes the cleanup; when thousands, perhaps millions, of right-wing heads explode, it makes quite a mess. Also, notice that the polls were right. I wonder if I can get invited when Nate Silver is sworn in as president? More: The Real Real America - The New York Times
Yours, dear sir, is a minority opinion.
Here’s a nice exit poll graphic:
Since 2008, males became more Republican – as did females! Republicans became more Republican, Democrats voted more Democratic and Independents… trended Republican!
Whites became more Republican and (OMG!) blacks became more Republican as well, albeit from a highly Democratic starting point. Hispanics and especially Asians trended Democratic.
Those who said they were worse off today became way more Republican while those saying they were better off became more Democratic. I might ponder about the direction of the causality of this self-report. Ditto for the national condition being good or poor.
White evangelicals went from 74% McCain to 78% Romney. The Jewish vote dropped from 78% Obama to 69% Obama. Conservatives were more enthusiastic about Romney than McCain, rising from 78 to 82% of that (35%) share of the populace.
I didn’t even realize that George Macaca Allen was running for Senate in VA, but he was … and lost. What is this, Christmas morning or something?
Yet in the last four presidential elections the republicans have won half of them. In the last 50 years, they have won more than half the elections (54%). So I don’t get it. One guy getting reelected doesn’t show a trend it shows one guy getting reelected. The trends don’t support that the republicans can’t win a presidential election.
I can’t agree with your idea either. The losing side is still there to represent it’s electorate and should serve this purpose; not by obstructing anything the winning side proposes but to work to mold that proposal into something that more represents what they were elected to uphold. You know, compromise, we’ll give you this idea as long as this protection is also included etc. so while we don’t agree with what you want, at least now it’s more palatable. They owe their voters that.
If they did that more and then once in a while put their foot down and say no I for one would take them far more seriously as a party I’d consider voting for. I have in the past. I don’t see myself as moving toward D+6 but rather the republican party, by it’s actions and current hot button planks it chooses to promote, has moved away from me. Their insistence that I either accept their view whole cloth or it’s Armageddon time for the good ole USA does nothing for me either but cause me to question their judgment.
Unfortunately, they will figure it out, as current history has shown probably very quickly and repackage their approach and they will get another chance. That is, unless that whole Armageddon thing wasn’t hyperbole after all.

It has a nice ring to it.
Oh my God, a bleak Conservative.
OMG Thank you for that. You are wiser, and far more gracious, than the Congressional leaders from your party. This loss must be tough for you. Hang in there, things are rarely as bad as they seem right after an electoral loss. I’ve BTDT.
Pretty much everyone agreed that Romney would be better on the economy. I guess some people approve of unevolutionary partnerships and killing babies so much that the economy doesn’t matter to them. Either that or they think a recession is the perfect time to dabble in socialism.
[QUOTE=Omg a Black Conservative]
… If I were Senate and House Republicans, I’d just sign on to whatever piece of legislation Obama wants to pass. If that’s what the people want, let them have it. It does no good blocking them, as they’ll just be labeled “obstructionists”. So pass them and whatever happens, happens. If they end up turning the country around, great! If they cause damage to the country then maybe, just maybe, it’ll cause people to rethink their loyalty to the Democratic party.

From your mouth to Og’s ears.
You do read your cites? Rhetorical question because you evidently don’t. The first one says that 3 poeple could think of an argument that Romney would be better because he could get all the Keynesian-socialist-commie-nazi stuff that Obama wants to do through Congress.
And as for the second - well democracy really sucks doesn’t it.
The biggest surprise for me was when, after he finished his hissy-fit, Karl Rove gave his analysis on what the Republican party needs to do, “If you look at not only the presidential election but also what happened in the Senate, the Republicans are going to have to have a long talk with themselves.”
Karl Rove!
OMG … ditto what Typo knig just said. While I rarely agree with you I do enjoy reading what you have to say here. I imagine you feel similar to how I felt when Kerry lost in 2004, maybe worse because deep inside I knew Kerry wasn’t going to win …
So when does Romney’s Secret Service detail take a hike? Not that I want anything to happen to him, but now that it’s over I don’t want to waste any more tax dollars protecting his sorry ass.
That’s because the economy hadn’t hit bottom yet. If I ask you after your car runs into a brick wall whether your body felt better the millisecond before you hit the wall, you would say YES too. That doesn’t mean the medics have done a bad job.
