The official "Wandering In L.A." New Post Announcements Thread

*NOTE: I have obtained permission from the staff to start this thread relating to my ongoing blog, Wandering In L.A. I’ve been instructed to use just this one thread to announce new blog posts in future, with permission to bump the thread as needed. *

This thread will be used to announce new posts to my blog, beginning with one that I published a few days ago:
Just How Old Is The Capitol Milling Facility in Chinatown? Well, It’s Complicated…

With about 7000 words and numerous illustrations, this post concerns a former flour mill adjacent to the Chinatown metro station, and which was in operation from about 1840 to 1998. As discussed in the blog, this isn’t to say that the existing building is that old, although almost all of it does go back to about 1888. However, there are some indications that small parts of older buildings have been incorporated into the existing building.

In future, I will be aiming to publish about one new post a week, but we’ll see how that goes. As you can already tell, my posts tend to be rather long and a great deal of work goes into each one.

Just in case any of you were holding your breath for the next blog post, it’s finally here! This time around, some recent improvements in the Los Angeles neighborhood of the Old Plaza are dealt with.
