Who pays the bills (rent, utilities, etc) and operational costs of the NY Stock Exchange? When we buy stock, is it ultimately somehow built-in to the cost of the stock? Or, is it built-into any fees charged to those who hold the privledge to scurry around on the floor of the NYSE like screaming maniacs (…or, chickens with their heads cut off)? - Jinx
I think the traders pay a lot to get a seat on the Exchange. I would think that’s where the costs are paid for.
I suppose if you work it out enough those costs could be passed on to individual investors just like any other business’s overhead.
