The Osbournes: Are Ozzy and Sharon good parents?

they are loving and caring, they laugh and have a good time together, they look up to each other and are honest - yes they are good parents.
That family will always love each other.

Are Ozzy and Sharon good people? Sure. Are they good parents? Of course not. That combination is why the show is such a hoot to watch!

On their interview with Barbara Walters a while back Sharon said that all 3 kids dropped out of high school with parental permission. (Sorry can’t find a cite).

I think not. When the show first came out, it was heralded as this cheerfully dysfunctional show. As in, they were all going to the dogs (literally in some episodes), but in a good way. Not in a “wearing overalls without any t-shirt, drinking beer and pissing in the yard, getting yourself on COPS more than once” dysfunctional way, but in a cool, rockstar as middleaged parent way. Ugh…

Of course, you have to look at the results. Both their kids and their dogs have basically reached adulthood and are spoiled assholes. They don’t know how to impose limits, and therein lies the problem. The fact that Jack and Kelly have had all these opportunities and still squander them (in drunk rehab at 17, dropping out of high school…) isn’t a good sign. Kelly wouldn’t even have her singing “career” to fall back on if not for her parents. Well, not big news for the children of rock stars, is it?
