The pain scale; highest rating you ever gave

At the risk of sounding like a broken record:
There is no 12, everyone in this thread has experienced a 10, it’s a subjective rating of your worst pain ever, what differs is the source of that pain for different people, or the source for an individual over the course of their life.
If you tell me that ‘this is my new 10’, I will take you more seriously than if you come to me and insist on making up numbers that don’t exist.

Giving birth to a 9lb 3oz baby boy when I was 16. Needless to say, he is an only child.

The numeral ‘2’ is just above the numeral ‘0’; I hit the ‘2’ by mistake and didn’t notice it. Is that better?

Sure. Just for the record, I didn’t create this scale and I’m not really a fan of it (not that I have a better idea), but I work with it a lot and know how to get the best out of it.

Nic2004`~I can relate, an Suv driver ran me off the road on my motorcycle, I left the bike attempting to tuck & roll, shattered my right hand & arm, 4 compound fractures, 7 herniated disc’s, several of the spine wings broken off, skull cracked open, 2 month coma. 20 min before the wreck I had pulled over, my full face helmet broke, switching to a beenie helmet. 500 stitches to my face (I chose no anes. to avoid scar tissue to face) 2 years learning to walk again. I had many a 10 blacking out from the pain. I learned of what stuff I was made of, just celebrated my 10th year since! And yes I still ride~

This. I had a kidney stone, and remember looking that up after the treatment.

The thing I remember from my personal experience is that the pain is unpredictable and no body position helps. It seemed scarier because of that.

I remember stumbling into an ER early Sunday morning with one. Luckily for me, I was examined right away.

I remember reading a quote along the lines of “I want to kiss the nerd who synthesized fentanyl.” I totally agree. The morphine follow up was nice as well.

I severed a hamstring tendon waterskiing last year, and that was an 8 in my estimation. Exquisite pain whenever I moved my leg. Couldn’t even stand up, much less put any weight on it.

Just went to the hospital last week for severe and unexplained leg pain. I gave it 10 out of 10. It must be nerve pain, because they threw every opiate they could at it.

Now I’m just a 2 out of 10.

Nine kidney stones. A cumulative 99.

Aside from that, I don’t think I can remember anything higher than about a 3. A couple of abcessed teeth are the only times I’ve taken a pain killer for anything, and iburofin wold hold that off for about 12 hours.
