The Pit, Where Were You When I Needed You?

I found out last week that my EI has run out (by not getting any more money in my account and waiting on hold for half an hour to ask why), and I was pretty pissed off, because that kind of information would have been useful to have. So there I was, quite upset, and there was no Pit to come and bitch and moan in. It’s back now, but it’s almost a week later, and I’ve moved on in my life. Sure, I can rant all I want to now, but the moment has passed, never to come again. ::heavy sigh::

Oh, and another thing - I hate the way MS Word treats URLs - when you’re trying to type them or edit them, this big hand keeps coming down like something from a Monty Python sketch and interfering with your efforts. Bah.

EI?

Translatéz-vous s’il vous plait.

Elephantine Incoherence?

Enormous Intuition?

Easter Igloo?

EI = Employement Insurance, what replaced the old UI (Unemployement Insurance).

The way EI is handled by the federal government in Canada is worthy of a Pit thread all its own.

Oops, sorry about the Regionalism. I forgot that not everybody in the civilized world has to deal with the Employment Insurance demons and their minions.

What really burns my butt is that it’s MY money they’re playing with. I paid my dues for 15 years; now that I need a little of it back, nyah nyah, too bad for you. Rat bastards.

There were times over the past month when I really needed The Pit…

Like when Team Canada looked like they were going to lose… and when Sale and Peltier were getting fucked over by the judges.

Or when our old computer refused to communicate with the rest of the computers.

On the bright side, we did win the gold in men’s hockey, and pairs, and women’s hockey and other events… and our new computer kicks some serious ass.
