They can have my pepperoni when they pry it from my cold dead clogged arteries!! Pah, what do the Italians think they know about pizza anyway!
Of course, I note the “official definition” is only for Neopolitan pizza, not all pizzas, so I guess we’re cool.
They don’t have pepperoni in Italy. If you order a peperoni pizza, you’ll get green, red, and yellow peppers. And Neopolitan is ostensibly the standard pizza sold here in the U.S.
Good for them - a true Neopolitan is a thing of beauty, but if slightly wrong it’s very wrong
Nope; American pizza may have originated from Neapolitan pizza, but it’s evolved into a different animal.
Thank you for that correction.
I love Neapolitan pizza, the margharetta (sp) is fantastic, never knew a cheese pizza could be so good. Used to go to the place down the street and order a pizza to go. Could be in and out in 7-10 minutes.
Pizza in Rome or Florence is not the same as in Naples and Naples was the ‘birthplace’ of the modern pizza, it deserves the official title.
Pizza Police, they live inside of my head
Pizza Police, they want some more garlic bread
Pizza Police, they’re gonna overfeed me, oh nooooo…
With major apologies to Cheap Trick…
“Pizza Police”.
What the hell… you know somone was going to say it anyways…
BAND NAME!
Doesn’t Neopolitan pizza have chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry?
