The Politics of Truth by Joseph Wilson and the White House response.

I was going to put this in GD and then IMHO and settled for here because it is sorta another gripe about our current administration.

The husband of the spy that whose outing is under federal investigation wrote a book about it. It is understandable very critical of the current administration. Today I was reading a review of this book in the NYT book review where I read that Wilson was appearing on MSNBC’s “Countdown” promoting his book. Keith Olbermann showed three messages sent from the White House outlining “talking points” designed to discredit Joseph Wilson and his book.
My question is WHY? What good did the administration think this was going to do? This guy is going around saying that this administration ruined his and his wife’s lives on purpose by manipulating the media and the White House’ s response is to send 3 e-mails to a news show detailing the best way to fuck his shit up.

Isn’t that a very stupid thing to do?

Yes.
Also, on the evidence of the past three and a half years, unremarkably stupid. Or, less awkwardly, typically stupid. And immoral. And an act that defended something that was not just immoral, but also illegal. And treasonable.
Also, unfortunately, quite typical.
Sigh.

Well…duh.

This is Bushco ya know. Isn’t stupid what they do?

Did Keith mistakenly get the email that was intended for Fox News?

Is this who you’re talking about? The OP is a little vague.

Yep, that’s it.

Just checking. Carry on.
