You see, once upon a time, through the frequent and deceptively polite missives of another poster, named for the 12th month, I was soundly convinced that George W. Bush was the greatest man to have sat in the Oval Office since, oh, at least the Harding administration. The only thing I wondered about Bush was when they were gonna start carving a fifth face, a second George, into the cliffs of Mount Rushmore.
Well, thanks to Reeder, dear readers, the scales have truly fallen from my eyes. I now see my doglike love and obedience for the Midland Mediocrity was misplaced; I have been tugging at the hem, not of greatness, but of pure, mother-raping, father-castrating evil. I don’t know how I missed it before, the resemblence to a certain paper-hanging son of a bitch who led western Europe into the fires of hell earlier in this century, but by damn if a little mustache and comb-over wouldn’t make GW the spitting image of a certain other mediocrity, from Munich.
And to think, without Reeder’s terse little cluster fu- er, bomblets hitting these boards every single goddam day, reminding me every 24 hours what a horrid, horrid person our president really is, I would have never remembered. Let me preface this by saying that I think the Bush Administration is the worst we’ve had to endure in over a century. I disagree with almost every policy, action, and proposal they’ve put forward.
I think their fiscal policy is putting us into a hole that it may take a decade to climb out of. I think their environmental and energy policies may well cause damage that’s irreparable. Their efforts at law enforcement are jeopardizing the very principles upon which the nation was founded. And their foreign policy is so misguided, I don’t even know where to start on it.
I think the top levels of this Administration are populated by cynical liars, religious zealots, and incompetents.
Nonetheless, I dearly wish that reeder would shut the fuck up.
