Yes, I think the Rodenbach is one of the best beers in the world, so I had no problem with the price. Sadly, now that I live in North Carolina I can’t get it at any price; it is simply not distributed here. I need to save my pennies and do a pub crawl in Brussels someday; I may not ever come back ;).
I once paid $10 for an ordinary 12 oz. bottle of Amstel Light at a Champagne Bar in Tribeca, Manhattan.
I was there for a Parkinson’s Foundation benefit party, but missed the free champagne happy hour at the start of the event (actually, I was there, but couldn’t get within 15 feet of the free champagne in that packed bar before the nectar stopped flowing).
I was quite poor at the time, and the bottled beer was the cheapest thing in the place. Yikes.
