So, Mrs. Lucwarm has been refusing to let the PSE & G guy enter chez-Lucwarm for the last 16 months. I was around for him a couple weeks ago, so we finally got an actual meter reading.
Well, the bill comes a couple days ago: It seems we now have an $800 credit for future gas and electricity use.
This happened to us. After about four months of estimates we get a letter from the electric company saying how “important” :rolleyes: it is to get actual meter readings. So the next time he comes, we tell him to use the new gate we installed, and he manages to leave it open and the dogs get out. So we call and complain, the electric company thinks we didn’t like how the meter was read, so they send the guy out again two days later, and he leaves the gate open again. This time we get a ticket for the dogs running loose. (Fortunately the judge and prosecutor were fairly understanding, and so we just have to make sure that the dogs don’t get loose for 3 months and the ticket goes away).
So anyway, I read my own meter now, and enter the reading on the electric companies web site. I imagine they’ll probably want to double check my readings, so I’ll just have to make sure that they close the gate when they do.
The sad thing is, that it was only the meter reader that managed to leave the gate open. The electric company switched out our meter, and who ever did that had no problem with the gate. And the propane guy has never had a problem with the gate. Oh well.
