Wait… there’s a laugh track? How is it I can’t hear this?! I have the sound up to a normal level but I don’t hear anything, and that explains these weird pauses. It’s like there should be something and there isn’t so the timing seems off.
I have no idea. The laugh track was the first thing I noticed, and it almost put me off watching the show.
… so I used to sort of watch this show because I liked most of the actors in it.
I kind of drifted away from it; but I’m still kinda-sorta interested in it in a way where I don’t want to go back and watched the episodes I missed.
So; that being said, Anyone care to spoil it for me how they wrote Rooster out of the show?
When I first watched the show I hated it too and I think I even commented on it. I just checked the pilot and the laugh track is super loud. Checked this season and I’m wrong, they’re still there but it’s so faint I have to turn the sound all the way up to blast before I hear the faint laughter. I don’t know what the deal is, but as bad as that laugh track is, it’s ten times worse when they’re pausing for laughter and there’s nothing to be heard!.
I’m not a watcher but I just found this article on AVClub:
It’s…okay. Mostly because it’s “uneven” in tone. The comedy tends to be formulaic, but there’s some real gems in there, mostly due to the acting chops of Sam Elliot and Debra Winger, Megyn Price, Kathy Baker, and, to a lesser extent, Elisha Cuthbert.
The show can go from comedy to drama in the blink of an eye, though, leading to Mood Whiplash.
Sooooo… who got shot, and who did the shootin’?
I’m betting that it was oxy-lady who pulled the trigger on her abusive boyfriend.
Would be awesome if it turns out to be Rooster who put dude down, but that ain’t gonna happen.
