Yeah, but I make a distinction between a massive systemic social injustice and a handful of anomalous cases. Dragging EMS workers into the discussion strikes me as an attempt to make the latter seem like the former. Honestly, how many unforeseen ambulance rides segue into the distraught husband asking the intransigent doctor “By the way, can you tie off her tubes as long as you’re in there?”
The reason I brought it up, by the way, is that my fiance is a paramedic. When he saw me looking up the hospitals in Resurrection’s system, I explained what was going on in the thread, and he said something to the effect of, “That’s nice and all…but I’m not checking the religious affiliation of a hospital when I take a call.”
Since we are talking about “even to save the life of the mother”, that puts a lot of these cases into the emergency category.
