If Obamacare’s insurance markets enter into a death spiral – which is possible – then I don’t see how Republicans don’t own that. Everyone knows they hate Obamacare and have tried to help it unravel from the beginning. Legislative incompetence aside, it’s entirely possible that this might be the one strategy that finally does the ACA in once and for all. Just create ongoing instability about the support it’ll receive and eventually insurers will start trying to operate independent of the law.

Republicans will still own it though. Sorry but when you run the three branches of government at the federal level and 75 percent of state governments, you kinda “own” what happens. Of course that doesn’t change the fact that to a rather large radicalized segment of the population, it’s still inexplicably more important that we find out about Hillary’s emails than providing healthcare coverage to millions of people.

By Tuesday afternoon, three Republican senators — all women — had come out against Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s plan to push a vote on a clean Obamacare repeal bill — enough to sink it altogether. Sens. Susan Collins (R-ME), Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV), and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) confirmed they would not vote for a repeal bill that delayed enacting the policy by two years.

It’s notable that the three women who had the final say, vocal in their positions on health care policy, were all cut out of the Senate’s initial working group to draft the Obamacare repeal-and-replace bill — a group of 13 men.

Dunno if this has been posted, but apparently the Fucknut in Chief is threatening to not pay subsidies for people on the ACA.

“My advice to the plans this morning was, ‘If you get it, cash the check quickly,’” said one health care lobbyist who represents insurers.

I thought the most fascinating comment was when Trump said that the vote would have been 48 to 4 – impressive!

You know, once you ignore all those other votes that just don’t count, only having 4 votes against IS really awesome!!

I guess he is thinking of what would happen in the countries that he admires… You just arrest the opposition and then have the vote. This is indicative of how Trump thinks.

I am sure there must be at least one American out there who is suffering from the same kind of cancer and who will die in poverty and pain while John McCain is treated by the best cancer specialists in the world on the taxpayer’s dime. And if John McCain survives, he will vote to make sure the peasants won’t be able to enjoy such care themselves.

I can’t even keep up. Is the Senate still voting on the “repeal now, replace later” bill? Weren’t there 3 Republican senators who already said they were opposed? Is the House going to vote on it as well? Can they even pass a “clean repeal” on reconciliation? I thought that required a filibuster-proof majority, since it’s not just a budget bill. Are they planning to use the Nuclear Option?
