And you’re registering not using the login, right? You clicked the “register” link that goes to http://fathom.org/teemingmillions/people/register.html ? You’ll get the no permission error if you just try to login without registering first…

I added myself (no old profile, I am a newbie), but how the hell do I upload a ravishing picture of moi?

porcupine, first you have to get a picture of yourself, resize it to 150 x 150 pixels, upload it somewhere and then put the link to the picture in the “profile photo” section of the profile screen.

You’re not registering for the 3FMB, you’re registering for the profile thingie. Totally unrelated. :slight_smile:

Porcupine: you can’t upload a picture, you need to upload it elsewhere. Hopefully by the end of today I’ll have a place for that, too, though. :slight_smile:

Thanks. I looked at the html for someone’s profile page and it showed a link for the pic to the teeming millions site itself; that’s why I thought I was supposed to put the pic on the teeming millions page somewhere.

They had a profile with the old system, where people sent me their pic and I uploaded it it for them.

Profiles are now searchable! Tere are currently 76 profiles listed, and more added all the time. You guys rock :slight_smile:

I actually just linked to my picture from The SD People Pages. So if you’ve got one there, you can link a picture pretty easily (cut and paste). You have to click on the picture box to get the link to work, but its there.

Unfortunately, I’m not on the people pages yet. So I created an account on geocities, uploaded the jpeg there, and put the link in at the profile. So for other newbies not on the people pages who want to add a profile, this works just fine.

Um… why link to the page??? Why not put the url of THE PICTURE in? In your case, it’s http://www.geocities.com/sdpeoplepages/images/jesuslynch.jpg

You could go to geocities… or you could create your homepage on fathom as well, and upload your pictures there. http://fff.fathom.org/pages (use the Intermediate/Advanced one, the other doens’t allow uploading)
