I spent all night upgrading the script that has so faithfully run the profiles over yonder at www.teemingmillions.com. The new version lets you upload photos directly (no more hosting them elsewhere and hotlinking!) to your profile! No more broken images! (Well, not once everyone’s uploaded them anyway. The ones that are broken right now will stay broken until the person who made them fixes 'em.) I’ve got it set to allow 5 photos, but they can’t be too big–I only have so much hard disk space!
Other fancy features include:
blogs
private messaging
email form rather than having your email address hotlinked
favorites/address book
a real url for your profile
other stuff that I won’t remember until I post this
Anyway, if you don’t have a profile, go get one! If you are one of the 1277 who already have one… go update it! It’s fancy.
Attempted to upload pic.
Entered pic details hit upload.
Automatically forwarded to this page http://teemingmillions.com/people/cgi/upload.cgi
Process seemed to stall as nothing happened for a few minutes.
Hit back, went to my profile and the pic is there, so I don’t know what’s happening with that cgi page.
Anyway, my pic is there, but of course, you don’t allow @ in my username, so I’m caughtatwork.
Ok Opal, I started a profile, and added a picture, but when I tried to log back on this morning, the username and password that I was e-mailed failed to work. What gives?
Hey Opal, I’m having problems logging in too to edit it. Is there somewhere on the site where I can get my password e-mailed to me or at least reset so I can change it?
You know whose profile I would really like to read? Sanguine Spider’s. That chick just fascinates me. Maybe she’ll see this and get busy telling us about herself. Photo’s would help too, though I don’t know if they could compete with my (completely tasteful) mental image of her.
Before you email me to reset your password, try these steps first:
make sure you have no spaces before or after either your username or password when you are logging in
try various differences in capitalization with your username. I know of at least one instance where the “forgot password” email actually sent out email with the username in lower case when it needed to be capitalized in order for the login to work!
Then if it still isn’t working, email me and I’ll reset the password for ya
