Upload photos to your Teeming Millions profile ~woohoo~

My login would not let me in from the front page; however, when I went to my profile and selected login, it worked ok. Give that a shot.

KidCharlemagne: some of the profiles have the old placeholder (spacer.gif) which is invisible. New profiles have the “(no pic)” placeholder.

The old script is from many years ago, and I don’t think that the upgrade is 100% compatible, so there are some profiles here and there with scrambled data. So if you see someone whose SDMB registration date is listed as a url, or something else weird like that, just shrug and move on heh.

Don’t worry Gingy, your ‘Hollywood’ picture is doin’ fine.

Tripler
You know, I’m still kicking myself in the ass over Bismarck, ND.

I signed up, and it assigned me a password, but I don’t think I chose one. So now I’m registered but don’t know my password. Help!

People, people! There just aren’t enough of us updating; I hadn’t since sometime in 2000! And so few with photos…especially the ladies…

Kudos to Opal for such dedication & perseverance in the face of indifference! Update, folks! Let us know if that whole Y2K thing worked out OK!

pravnik: it emails the password to you. Check your email. There is also a “lost password” form on the main profile page where you can have it emailed to you.

Failing all of that, I can reset it for you.

I must be blind or stupid, because I’m completely missing where you make a new profile or whereever I go to edit mine.

No, JimSox5, it’s kind of confusing. . . AW CRAP!!! Now I can’t remember how I did it.

OPAL, heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp!

It doesn’t seem to remember what’s type into the First Name field. It keeps calling me no name.

You’ve got the AIM and ICQ backwards. (The ICQ shows what’s entered into AIM and AIM shows ICQ.)

You go to: http://www.teemingmillions.com
Click on the banner that says “Faces and Profiles” or on the “Doper Profiles” link in the menu on the left.
At the top of the page you get to, there are links for “Register” and “Login”

DrMatrix: It isn’t remembering when you change it? That is very odd. Thanks for the heads up re: the AIM/ICQ labels. Heh.

I didn’t have my name in the old profile. Now it says “no name” for the First Name field. I change it; click the “modify” button, and it still says “no name”.

The other fields that I’ve updated work OK.

It won’t let me log in and I just made my profile!!! ARRRRRRGH!!!

OpalCat, your thingie hates me already!!

Rather than posting it here, if you can’t login you should email me so I get it right away

DrMatrix: Hrm. Some of the profiles got a little scrambled in the upgrade. I’ll see if I can figure out what is going on.

Got mine all set up just fine. Excellent work, lady Opal. This lowly, wormcreature of a SPOOFE appreciates it greatly.

I did a little testing tonight, Opal, since I’m the one who maintains both my profile and DrMatrix’s. DrM’s profile survived the upgrade unscathed, while mine lost almost everything. In order to insure that I could delete our profiles and start again from scratch without losing our usernames, I first created a temp profile, then deleted it. I then recreated it, then deleted it again.

I discovered that whatever one enters in the “First Name” field cannot be changed. If one doesn’t enter anything in the “First Name” field, it will say “no name” . . . this also cannot be changed.

I also noticed that you’ve fixed the AIM/ICQ reversed fields on the “update info” page. You should know that it’s still reversed on the registration page.

I still can’t get it to email my password.

Do I have to register again on the profiles page, or just log in again? If it’s just logging in, I’ve got a problem.

Same problem as JimSox5. I’m logged in to teemingmillions.com but when I go to my profile it wants me to log in again.

I was able to get my profile created and load up a pic, but now I can’t get back in. Is my profile login the same as my teemingmillions login?

The profiles is a totally different program than the main teemingmillions.com site. I would have to totally hack the program (not happening–I’m not a programmer) to get it to share the same user database. So yes, you need to register again. The top of the profiles page does say “PLEASE NOTE: You need to fill out this registration separately from the main teemingmillions.com registration. It is a totally different program and doesn’t use the same registration.”

Whether you are logged into teemingmillions.com or not is totally and completely irrelevant to the profiles.

Ahhhh…
monotone voice announces Light is on. DING
I get it now, sorry OpalCat for makin’ ya crazy.
