Gene Simmons is tweeting: “Gov Perry worked for Al Gore and then switched to Republican. He will be our next President. I’ve never been wrong.”
Interesting.
Gene Simmons is tweeting: “Gov Perry worked for Al Gore and then switched to Republican. He will be our next President. I’ve never been wrong.”
Interesting.
Why would Gene Simmons’ thoughts on politics be interesting?
'Cause he’s a smart guy and apparently never been wrong in predicting presidential elections.
I have seen no support for either of those claims.
Then you just haven’t been looking.
I’m assuming he means, President in 2016.
Is Perry in favor of replacing the Constitution with the Articles of Confederation? Just asking.

And it was not the only time . Here is another. But a moraitorium in SHODANLAND is apparently not a stoppage. It is something different. It is whatever SHODAN wants it to be.
I think he wouldn’t say that openly, but the totality of his stances is actually suggestive of a Federal government weaker than it was in 1789 when the Constitution was signed.
I haven’t seen this mentioned yet, but Perry is on video essentially threatening Ben Bernanke, saying that it would be treasonous if he prints more money, and that if he came down to Texas people would know how to deal with him.
I’ve got to say that this is one of the most reckless, undisciplined, stupid things I’ve heard a serious Presidential candidate say. It violates the principle of the separation of the Fed from politics, it coarsens the debate, it shows that Perry is either ignorant of the basics of the banking system or he knows how it works and he’s issuing threats to a guy just trying to do his job for political purposes.
As far as my rhetorical support goes, he’s dug himself a damned big hole and he’s going to have to be amazing from here on out for me to be able to get over that.
I hope the Republicans find a better candidate.
Damn you! You are making me side with Shodan!!!
I read the quote in the cite and immediately thought he meant no new regulations, not suspending the existing ones.
Okay, but you assumed that - that’s not what Perry said. Maybe you’d read his earlier statement somewhere and had that tucked away in your subconscious. My point is that it’s a reasonable conclusion for you to have drawn - but it’s also a reasonable conclusion - based on Perry’s words - that he meant all regulations.
While I knew he was destined to soon make a fool of himself, I’d hoped he wouldn’t try and drag the rest of us along with him, especially when he first got nowhere near a majority of the state’s vote. But last night when I saw this my disgust with him reached new lows.
He’s an idiot with delusions of grandeur. I think he’s in for a national dressing down the likes of which has not been seen for a very, very long time.
Shodan, you do realize, do you not, that we can all look at that video, and see for ourselves what Perry said, regardless of your claims that he didn’t say it? Because it doesn’t do much for your credibility when you say things like that, with the counterevidence so easily available.
If you watch the video, and decide that Perry called for the suspension of all federal regulations (as** gonzomax** claimed he did), there is nothing I can do about that.
The trouble is, he didn’t say that. A moratorium on new regulation is not the same thing as calling for the suspension of all regulations. These are not the same thing. You can insist they are until you are blue in the face. They aren’t.
Regards,
Shodan
It’s become clear to me that Shodan is engaging in this obfuscation and weaseling regarding the meaning of the word “moratorium” in an effort to distract from the real problems with Perry, which Sam Stone rightly makes note of.
Perry as an idiot saying stupid things about a moratorium on all federal regulations doesn’t really distinguish him from all the other idiots launching candidacies for the GOP nomination.
Perry threatening harm to the fed chairman kind of does.
But in the video, he says “ALL regulations” and does not say “new regulations”. Are we all watching the same thing?
So which one did he actully say? Hint: the word “new” will not be found, while the word “all” will.
Typically hypocrite?
How Rick Perry aggressively pursued federal aid he now decries

His “aw-shucks” speeches already make me dislike him and the HPV apology is an interesting indicator of what he’ll do and say to get elected - he’ll suck up to the religious right and tea partiers to get the nomination which (I can only hope) will turn off more rational mainstream voters and cost hi the election. If he’d opened up something like “All right, let’s cut the crap…”, I’d already be cheering for him.
