The Ring-OMG (spoilers)

Well, as long as we resurrected this thread…

What the hell, Knowed Out? I don’t want to derail this into some huge racism discussion, but jeez. Apparently it didn’t bother anyone else, but I would like to register myself as not being terribly pleased by that statement. I’m sure you didn’t intend to offend, but you know that not every audience with predominantly black members reacts that way, right?

I’m waiting to see “The Ring” until I’m with my horror-movie buddy. Can someone help me out: what is the actual “ring” aspect of the movie?

CadburyAngel: While I’m sure that not every predominantly black audience reacts vocally to the action on-screen, the phenomenon is hardly unknown, either. FTR, I’ve seen films with both largely black and largely white audiences, and in general the black audiences tend to be more vocal. I don’t think that’s a negative racial stereotype – I think it’s just different cultures at work. Kind of like churches – visit a black Baptist church and a white Baptist church and you are likely to see radically different services.
