I am still trying to figure out what happened on this one…

Was this supposed to be a joke?

Was the guy so intoxicated that he didn’t know what he was saying?

Did he finally seem to understand at some point during the party, (but after the damage was already done) that he had just said something that would lead to his firing?

How much did Kathy charge for a 2-hour “Greek Blessing” show?

If I recall correctly, she just dropped in at the end to make an appearance. And he was scared the rest of the night, although I don’t think he thought he would get fired. This was before e-mail so he had no way of contacting her afterwards to apologize. I was off the day he got fired.

What a jerk. You know, if you piss off the AAs and secretarial, you *will * pay. You may not think they are important but they are crucial.

It’s nice to think this, but it rarely pans out this way (especially at law firms). To the OP: does your firm rhyme with “Spadden”?

I hate people who are on the clock who talk to other staff in front of customers, especially when they do it instead of serving customers. That always feels like I’m interfering with their socializing by trying to give their company my money (and there are few companies out there that want their customers to feel like they’re intruding).

Doesn’t it make you feel like you’re a 3rd party? Agh. I’m at my doctor’s office two weeks ago, standing at the desk waiting to make a follow up appointment (for migraines, no less) and she’s screaming on her cell phone, talking to her son’s drug rehab center. :o I don’t mind chitchat in an office - it’s practically a rite of passage in ultra-informal Pittsburgh - I just mind hearing personal details of others’ lives. Especially when they’re gory…like drug rehab :smack:.
