17:10. I’ll be impressed with myself if I can even finish tomorrow’s.
12:21 for Thursday. That makes me:
Monday 19:04
Tuesday 10:03
Wed 15:37
Thurs 12:21
Muchas gracias! That solved it.
9:02 for Thursday. This was the easiest one yet.
Humph. Well, using code does not help at all in lining up the numbers. I do have a spreadsheet, and I’ll write a pdf and post it on a website Friday evening for all to see.
Three more to do.
Ummm…are we supposed to be doing Friday’s puzzle? I certainly hope so:
Monday – 11:46
Tuesday – 15:45
Wendesday – 16:02
Thursday – 17.13
Friday – 9:26
10:45 for Friday
[ul][li]Monday = 12:07[/li][li]Tuesday = 11:24[/li][li]Wednesday = 14:51[/li][li]Thursday = 11:33[/li][/ul]Friday = 11:36
I actually thought this one was much easier. 8:55 for Friday.
And back to my usual length times - 20:25 for Saturday. It didn’t help that I know only one thing regarding the main person.
Friday - 5:52
Saturday - 6:29
Is there a pro circuit? Because I’m about this close to quitting law school for this…
Monday 12:33
Tuesday 9:15
Wednesday 18:32 (ouch)
Thursday 12:10
Friday 6:41 (woohoo)
Saturday 13:20
I had to use the letter verify button on Monday through Thursday’s puzzles. I didn’t know if that was cheating or not.
Sunday 8:34. Is this the final day?
Saturday 9:17 Much better.
Sunday 9:47
[ul][li]Monday = 12:07[/li][li]Tuesday = 11:24[/li][li]Wednesday = 14:51[/li][li]Thursday = 11:33[/li][li]Friday = 11:36[/ul][/li]Saturday = 8:32
Sunday = 10:10
Sunday 16:32. Is this going to continue on to next week? I feel like I’m starting to get the hang of these now.

My conclusion: give me a pencil over a mouse any old day.
Just to chime in here, I’m no good at crosswords, but I’ll take any credit I can get just from pointing out that the guy with the name that starts in j, ends in e and has ackelop in the middle, is my brother!
pats his bro on the back You done well
He sure did. The big crossword tournament used to be in Connecticut each year, and there are often local ones. I’ve never been to the one in Connecticut, but I did go to the Games/Merriam Webster one at NYU in 1986, and one in Pennsylvania moderated by Will Shortz. They’re great fun.
That’s pretty cool. I read a book about the Pro Scrabble circuit and the life of the big names, how they studied and how they went about preparing for the tournaments. It was pretty cool, but some of them were crazy. Not in a good way either.
I imagine you’d find the same sort of fanaticism and wildly unusual personalities when it came to the crossword tournies.
