Yeah, PokerRoom didn’t allow for real “tournament” style play, you had a set limit game you had to move from room to room to get increasing blinds. PITA. PT allows a true tournament format, but .10 is as low as they go..and .50 to the house. Nobody will get rich, just bragging rights (if that slacker Logarithmic Nanook ever posts some updated scores).
Welcome back Omni. Pokertropolis is much better for our needs. It actually runs a blinds schedule. There is a small real-money fee per game (sixty cents, and you have to initially deposit $20 into your account), and even the winner is not guaranteed of breaking even on his sixty cents, but I like to think of it as money put into a coin-op or a jukebox; a little cash for some good entertainment.
Hey, guys! I’ve signed up but I’m on the road this week, with a slow dial-up connection that I need to restart every 30 minutes, so I may be a real nuisance tonight – fair warning. It might be best if somebody else initiates the chat … any volunteers?
Also in the way of a warning, there are version updates again, so you late signers-up need to allow an extra couple of minutes.
Finally, if there’s anybody new to the PT game who wants to get in tonight, post your PT name and ID number here as soon as you can. I’ll check back around 7pm EDT and try to get you in the game on time.
“Some Players” even do better when they don’t play
We’ll put up with the restarts, just hope one doesn’t come up right when your in a big ol’ juicy pot and it all-in folds ya! (not sure how this site handles it, I don’t think I’ve ever been cut off…)
Well, I’m in for tonight. I decided to bite the bullet and deposit the $20, then I won three bucks playing ring games. So right now I’m playing on other people’s money. Yeehaw!
