It may not mean much to you, but it’s the one sure sign that spring is nearly here. Saw one today while doing errands. And. . .
Whoa! Had to stop typing there for a moment: two HUGE Steller’s Jays just landed on the tree right outside my window. By the time I grabbed my camera, they bolted.
Yesterday, I saw a pair of (I think) redtail hawks cruising above our meadow. Then I was watching one of them perched on top of the spruce outside the office window, and the other one came along and… well… it sure was a quickie!
Anyway, nice to know that we’ll have raptor company for the summer again. Keeps the vole population under control.
It means something to me . Where I live there really are only 2 seasons. Summer and winter. Spring and fall last about 2 weeks each. Oh well…got to stay where the money is.
