I’ve often wondered why the settlers didn’t settle somewhere warmer. Can anyone explain this to me?
Because settlers from northern Europe had no problem with the cold. Additionally, it was healthier and much more comfortable year-round. It wasn’t until after air conditioning was invented that people wanted to live in the south in the summer.
