Zagadka, i’d like to categorize you under “People the need anti-anxiety pills”. Why do you go to boards, not answer the question, act like you are better than everyone and then not even answer the question? Don’t you have porn to look up? Clearly the SDMB is not for you. Get a puppy, you can yell at him and at least get some respect back.
Sensing some bitterness, Johnny. Maybe you need a vacation. I understand that trolling about BBSs and arguing pointless topics can be very stressful. May I suggest some pot? Or maybe just lay off the coffee. BTW, you forgot to insult the size of my penis and my mother somewhere in there.
Well accually Johnny27 there is no factual answer in the questions asked. They are both nonsense and Zagadka was just pointing that out in the standard SDMB scarcasm. This thread never would have been started so there is no need to directly attack the quality of someone who was saying that.
Zagadka… come on, I’d never make fun of your mother… If it wasn’t for her, I would not have even know to make fun of the size of your penis. She’s more disappointed than anyone that you’re small, but I’m sure she’s already mentioned it before.
but really, she’s a great woman, I’ll be sure to have her home by 1.
Actually, and according to the U.S. Board on Geographic Names, the most common town name in the U.S.A. is Fairview, followed by Midway and then Oakview.

If Rush Limbaugh is a horseman, one who is generally correct on determining values based on a distorted categorical imperative, does this mean Al Franken is the savior of mankind? I think your looking in a fun house mirror.
I think his beef was with people who go into threads and act like just because they don’t want to talk about it no else should. Annoying as heck. Now if you said this thread looks like a better fit for Cafe Society that would have both accurate and not annoying.
If I personally was going to do it. I would only insult one of you. I’d say “your dick is just like your mother’s”. You decided who or what I’m insulting.

You will lay off the personal insults in this forum or you will be BANNED.

Actually he grew up in Portland(about 2 hours north of Springfield), went to high school at Benson Polytechnic and went to college in Olympia (The Evergreen State College). My friend Jesse grew up in the same house as MG(but not at the same time, natch). It’s located just off of Vista Ave in Portland’s west hills.
Groening has been quoted as saying that Springfield is based on Portland(several characters share names with Portland streets, including Lovejoy, Terwilliger and Flanders). In later years the “where is springfield” joke became so engrained in the series that they intentionally inserted false “clues” about the true Springfield. In reality, it’s everytown USA.
There is a real Evergreen Terrace in Portland, and it’s in a bizzarely isolated area in the middle of Forest Park, not far from the aforementioned house. See:

BTW, “Burlington” is also a very common town name in the USA.
I was at the house for an “open house” when it was on sale. I didn’t realize whose house it was til I saw a plaque given to Homer Groening. Homer was his father’s name. It took all my will power not to swipe the plaque.
I don’t see the problem. Every one knows the Simpsons live in Springfield, Oh, hi Maude.
You misspelled “Oh, hiya, Maude”.
The other night Superintendant Chalmers was exclaiming about how “this used to be the best/worst (I can’t recall) school in Missouri”. The other people in the scene sort of goggle at him, and he continues, “so they tore it down and moved it HERE!”.
I got quite a kick out of that…
Well, your professor is wrong. Anybody who’s watched the series long enough knows the location of Springfield is a running gag. Just like Burns never remembering Homer’s name (except for once, IIRC) and Smither’s never-quite-outed homosexuality. Springfield is Anywhere, USA.
