The Simpsons and The Fox News Antichrist?

Honestly, does anybody out there know what state Matt Groening intend from the Simpsons to be from. Also, in reply to Johnnyt’s question about Jared Brunk being the antichrist, I can tell you it’s not likely. I don’t quite know who the Antichrist is, but I have a feeling the four horsemen consists of the following:

  1. Sean Hannity
  2. Bill O’reilly
  3. Rush Limbaugh
  4. Anne Coulter
Also, I have been wondering as of late whether or not Fox News is being utilized by the underworld to help exploit the devil’s plans for world domination. Anybody out there noticing the same thing I am?

To (roughly) quote Lisa Simpson: “If you look at the clues, it’s quite obvious”.

Saluki,

I beg to differ, brunk holds all the clues to indeed being the antichrist. If you read the bible and compare it to brunk, the similarities are uncanny.

a professor at UCLA, Jordan Russel, teaches a class on ethics based on the simpson… he proved in a disertation that the simpsons indeed takes place in missouri, as hard as that is to believe.

It was revealed that the Simpson’s are Kentuckians

Oops, wrong link…this was said in Episode 248.
It was the “Behind the Music” ripoff episode.
The narrator says they live in Kentucky, but if they do, how is Springfield on an ocean?

Actually going from memory, I think that there were two versions of this episode, both giving a different location. Also after they said that the simpsons were from Kentucky, if you watch the credits you see a name that was something like “We’re notfromKC”

Ever seen the Lemon tree Episode? Springfield and Shelbyville share a border, not so in KY. There is also an episode that says something to the effect of “West Springfield is bigger than Texas”. Springfield has a harbor as well. Through process of elimination of all the facts, such as travelling between states, one can only surmise that Springfield is not based on a real city.

As much as I think that Fox News consorts with the Old Hoary One, isn’t this thread a poor excuse for a factual question in order to get in a dig on Fox News?

Peace.

Please don’t refer to Anne Coulter that way.

There is no possible state that has all the features described in Simpsons episodes.

More than you ever wanted to know about Springfield:

Groening named it Springfield after the town in an old sitcom… I’m 90% sure it was MY THREE SONS, but I could be wrong.

And having lived in a Springfield (in Northern VA), I learned it was the most common town/city name in the U.S., at least in the early 90’s when I was there.

I always thought it was Springfield, Mass. Based on the Ted Kennedy sound-alike politician.

Oh, yeah. Saluki. those 4 are Alan Colmes, Al Franken, Michael Moore and Sheila Jackson-Lee. Just thought I’d help clarify that for ya. (See how easy it is to drive-by in GQ?)

You guys do know that Groening grew up in Springfield OR. right?

However, the city on the show isn’t supposed to be any one city in particular. It is on the ocean, it gets lots of snow, it has a large gorge, and a nuclear plant, a casino and a large mountain. It is every city.
Also, take geography clues from the Simpsons is just stupid, unless sombody can tell me where you can be at the intersection of 5 states at once.

Weird combo of questions here.

In the Behind the Laughter episode they said both Northern Kentucky and Missouri.

There’s an episode of the Simpsons where the intro contains a sequence that zooms out through the atmosphere.

If you pause the scene just before they raise above cloud level, you can clearly see that Springfield is located in the Midwest, directly south of the Great Lakes, and proximal to Illinois or Missouri.

Actually, in another episode, Lisa points out the location of Springfield on a map and it’s in the same general area as it is in the zoom out episode. The exact location is obscured by (I think) Homer’s head.

Matt has always said that he chose the name “Springfield” because there was a town in every state named that. Although, I have never heard of Springfield Hawaii.

The question of the state in which The Simpsons reside has been discussed at length on the board in the past.

The consensus seems to be that they live in an imaginary Springfield in an unnamed state. In an episode in which Bart and Lisa visited the state capitol, it was plain that the state flag did not match the flag of any real state. In the episode it was mentioned that the inclusion of the Confederate flag was inappropriate, especially as they are a northern state, which would seem to knock out Kentucky.

In the epsiode in which the town divided after the addition of a new area code, one of the two area codes was from Missouri. It was, however, an area code used in the eastern part of the state, and nowhere near Springfield, Missouri.

While there is not a town called “Springfield” in every U. S. state, it is generally figured to be the most recurrent town name in the country. It seems likely that this is also the reason it was the name of the town on Father Knows Best. It is also the town name on at least one soap opera–I belive it may be The Guiding Light.

They also have 4 fingers and yellow skin. What “realities” are you basing things on? I mean, it is a cartoon. That’s just about it. Discussing it is like discussing how Kenny keeps coming back in South Park.

I don’t think the other questions even merit answers.
