Well I finally got the beds working, I think the problem was the patch reset all the energy levels to 100% (d’oh!!!) so now I can play this game for real.
The Newbie couple became upwardly mobile Yuppies, Bob’s in medicine and Betty’s climbing the political ladder. Lots of power lunches and dinner parties. Somehow I got the heart icon between Betty Newbie & Melissa Roomie, they hug and tickle and give each other back rubs but so far they haven’t been able to kiss yet. They’re both at 100 friendship so I guess it’s a luck thing.
My White Trash family is great. Four kids in that tiny 1-bedroom house, I should have made six. The dad is best friends with Bob Newbie (both are complete slobs) but everyone HATES the Mom. One of the kids never plays with the others, but he hit it off with Mr. Goth pretty well – hmm, maybe I shouldn’t say where I’m planning to take this.
Used the money cheat to move the Pleasant family into the 2nd largest house with all the most expensive gizmos. They’re insufferably boring.
Next up, the “Sopranos” family…haha. Maybe this weekend I’ll actually sleep.
Found it, the correct version number is 0.42.4. I’m looking forward to getting home so I can try it out. I’ve had the game for quite a while but I’ve never had the time to do much with it. I’ve been looking for something to help my sims with their relationships, now thanks to Xploder, I’ve found it!

To get §1,000, do Control+Shift+C and enter:
Regular, run-of-the-mill The Sims: klapaucius
Sims with version 1.1 patch, Livin’ Large/Livin’ It Up expansion, and/or House Party expansion: rosebud
After that, Control+Shift+C again and enter exclamation points and semicolons (!;), one pair for each extra §1,000 you want, you greedy little…I mean, you game-loving…uh…game lovers!

Also, the easiest way to get tons of cash is to hit ctrl shift c and then type rosebud !;!;!;!;; just remember that you can type as many !;'s in a row as long as you add an extra ; at the end. I just prop the cd case on the enter key and watch the moola add up. When you have enough, just backspace over the extra ; and hit enter.
bah, where’s the fun in cheats like that. If I want money I download a rich family, seduce them and get them to move in with me, then I … KILL THEM BUAHAHAHAHAHAHA and all there money is mine! And I also have two nifty tombstones or urns to tastefully place around the lot. It’s much more satisfying with all the plotting and sordid murder. And to make it really spectacular use the Law Enforement track, elol. Or the Medicine track, or the Politician Track.
