The Sixburgh Steelers March to the Super Bowl Thread

Whoa…bitter much?

Nah, the opportunity to poke fun at the Steelers for not playing well only comes along once in a great while, so I have to take advantage of it when I can!

:slight_smile:

Also, that guy writes some pretty funny stuff about a lot of other teams, too. The one on the Bengals is pretty hilarious. Check it out.

I bookmarked it for later. His writing style reminds me of one of my favourites: Dr. David Thorpe’s Your Band Sucks, he eviscerates some of my favourite bands but I like it!

Unfortunately I don’t see any of his music writing around any more.

God, I just read the one about the Ravens. It is sooooooo funny.

It would be funnier if he did any research. Most of the Heinz ketchup distribution comes out of Ohio now.

Also, while I seem to see a lot of meat on the hoof here, we actually don’t appear in any of the top fattest cities rankings - at least, none that I’ve seen.

Nevertheless, he should have gone with a food from central or eastern Europe instead of sticky buns. Pierogies? For some unknown reason, we don’t really like our sweet pastries around here. While Dunkin Donuts have reopened several venues in the north, Pittsburgh doesn’t appear to support donut shops very well. It’s not that we’re health conscious by any stretch. I think if you could open a meat-on-a-stick shop, you’d probably do better than a donut shop here.

And he’s also sadly mistaken if he wants to imply that there’s no yinzers around here anymore because the steel mills closed. There may not be people who presently work in the mills anymore, but they and their children are still very much around. You can take the yinzer out of the mill, but…

Everything else he says is true. If you’re not a fan of the Steelers, your team doesn’t have six rings, and your team isn’t the flagship of the league, and your team doesn’t do everything right, and your team is probably owned by some neauveau riche dot com millionaire who’s probably just some guy who is originally from Pittsburgh anyway.

LOL. Oh come on now, like a guy writing snark pieces like this needs truth as a guide!

I just found out that our game was bumped because Philly’s game was postponed due to snow! :mad:

Bumped to when?

Bumped off the television, presumably.

Yes. They bumped the Steeler game to show one of the others. Steelers still play at the same time, they just aren’t showing it here.

That’s why I rarely watch the game at home. It’s not worth the possibility of missing the game.

It’s why I subscribed to my cable provider’s NFL package. My biggest complaint is I can’t watch the games from my laptop at work. With my NHL package I have a sign-in code and can watch most of the games from wherever I am.

While I appreciate these long passing plays, it sure doesn’t kill any time off the clock. Putting faith in the secondary to stop anyone at this point is pure fantasy. We’ve had decent success all day with the run, why give up on it?

Yeah, 30-28 is too close and there is too much time left on the clock.

Anyone else loving the commitment to a balanced offense they’ve been striving for?

::crickets::

No one?

::more crickets::

Just me?..e…e…

Fuck, I hate Bruce Arians. :mad:

He truly is atrocious, but is there any chance of replacing him?

I’m not hopeful. They still feel stung by letting Tom Moore go too soon and it’s not their style to make coaching changes during the season. He seems to be enabling the diva side of Ben Roethlisberger rather than reigning him in like Whisenhunt did.

<sigh> Stupid Packers.

Ben Roethlisberger is the luckiest QB in the history of the league. I don’t even get it.

Woohoo! What a finish! I wish I could have been watching it. Stupid Fox network!
