A decade later, in 1974, a group called Labelle released a song titled ‘Lady Marmalade’, which featured the repeated line, ‘Voulez-vous coucher avec moi ce soir?’(translation – ‘Do you want to sleep with me tonight?’).
My, how quickly times changed from merely wanting to hold hands versus coming right out and asking someone if they wanted to get down and dirty!
Don’t forget the Kinks released “All Day and All of the Night” in '64. (That song and “You Really Got Me” kicked off the heavy metal, garage, and eventually punk rock genres.)
