In meatspace I commented today that I’m generally against the death penalty but could get behind some summary executions.
How about summery executions? You know where you stake someone out in July in the desert over some ant hills and fast-growing cactus? We have all of that in Texas. And you Yanks didn’t think we were good for anything. Humph!
Are they fire ants?
I agree. We all could have agreed to that point without anyone bringing up the Der Speigel article, which, I maintain, is bad journalism and has nothing to do with any of this.
She’s got an alibi. The day Foster was murdered, she was abducting children at a pizza restaurant.
I have no desire to see anyone killed. But if they were all sent off to Mars in a SpaceX rocket and they take their chances, that’s an option I’d encourage at the soonest opportunity.
Musking Morons?
Marching Muskians?
Marching Martians?
Many Marching Muskian Martians?
I’m afraid it’s worse than that. They not only don’t give a damn about hypocrisy, they laugh and sneer at us for thinking it matters. The only thing they believe in is “a boot stomping on a human face—forever.”
My favorite part is that she is admitting that she is a Russian agent in her “personal” life. I’m sure she keeps that so separate from her job. No security worries here.
Maybe she’s severed. (TV series Severance nod)
As Mark Kelly pointed out, when has Elmo gone up in even a sub-orbital flight in one of his own rockets?
The easy solution is just to have Musk buy Signal and then it will be 100% super-duper secure.
Wrong thread.
Maybe we can convince Trump to become the first president in space. I’m not suggesting that we add in an Apollo 13-type situation, but if one should occur, we just say he’s in our thoughts and prayers, and we’re rooting for them.
The B-Ark is a definite possibility.
March 12th, by me:
So, that’s it. This particular clusterfuck is off the front page and no one will be investigated, let alone prosecuted for:
- Using an insecure channel to discuss secret battle plans
- Revealing those secret battle plans to someone without clearance
- Putting American soldiers at risk for revealing those plans
- Violating record retention laws by using Signal and setting the messages to self-destruct after one week.
Absolutely nothing is going to happen to anyone, unless Waltz decides to fall on his sword for the specific crime of getting caught. I’m sure this administration will continue to use Signal, continue to regularly delete their tracks, continue to have extremely lax security practices, and so on.
And you expected otherwise?
I did not, although I’m a bit surprised about just how quickly it blew over.
Fear not though! This will still be a crime for anybody who is not in the Trump administration!
To keep the balance right, these same crimes will count double in any Democrat run administration from the past to the future.
