Ok, so theoretically I could start up a rec soccer team, qualify as an amateur for the US Open Cup, win it, qualify for CONCACAF Champions League, win it, qualify for the Club World Cup, and win that. Does that count?
Because my own team would definitely be my favorite.
You just described my sports fandom to a T (not as much of a Badger fan since I graduated from my own college though). This is also where my big debate came in because all the WIsco teams have done well in recent years and I fear that granting a championship to one would doom the other when, in theory, maybe both can happen in 10 years? Personally I don’t think I’d take the deal, but I would be very tempted to have my alma mater win a football national championship which literally won’t ever happen.
You know, I never thought of using USA soccer to win a world cup. That’s a really great answer. But don’t think the “every four years” is a shortcut to the ten years. It would be ten world cups in that case. That also screws the ladies out of WCs.
Won’t work. The genie won’t wait that long. When you discover him you have maybe a couple days to decide, not long enough to do that scheme.
Considering that most of my teams almost never win championships anyway, having them wait an additional 10 years for a title is no sacrifice for me at all.
