A championship for your favorite sports team, or......

Would you rather see your most-favorite sports team win **one **new championship, or see your other-favorite teams win **four ** new championships (combined)?
I’m a Cowboys (NFL,) Spurs (NBA), Rangers (MLB,) Sabres (NHL) and Longhorns (NCAAF) fan, for instance. The Cowboys are my most-favorite team, and I’d prefer to see them win another Super Bowl than see the Spurs, Rangers, Sabres, and Longhorns each win a championship in their respective sports.

Ack I read this wrong.

I’d be ok with the Browns and Cavs winning 2 championships each at the expense of the Indians.

If the Buckeyes won 4 championships in a row, that’d be boring, tho. They are good and we expect it. All the other teams, we’re long suffering fans.

My favorite sports team has won 3 championships in the last 5 years. The only thing that could make it better is if they make it 4 in 6 years.

I’ll choose the second option. The Dodgers winning the World Series means the Giants lose just once. The Padres winning the Series 4 times means the Giants are humiliated and crushed 4 times as often.

No brainer.

Hmm, I would love to see the Giants win a 4th World Series this decade. But as I only have one other favorite team and they have never won the Stanley Cup, I voted for the San Jose Sharks winning four.

Just for clarification, you can have several less-favorite teams winning championships if it adds up to 4 total among them.

It’s not limited to, “Favorite win one or second-favorite win 4?”

If the Bills won four championships, that would almost make up for the four they lost, and the Yankees already have 27, but I’d still choose option 1.

My favorite team is the Saints. Winning the Super Bowl after 40+ years was awesome. My other favorite teams are Alabama and Mississippi State. Bama already has so many, I’d give 4 straight to State and enjoy the sweet tears of all the SEC bashers.

I’d enjoy Liverpool winning the Champions League almost as much as the All Blacks winning the World Cup four times.

Well, let’s see. My most-favorite team is the Red Sox.

My other favorite teams are the Patriots, Bruins, and (baseball) Cardinals.

This century I have most-favorite winning three, and other favorites winning 6.

What to choose, what to choose… :stuck_out_tongue:

My three favorite teams are the Royals, the Chiefs and Notre Dame football. I’m honestly not sure which is my favorite - likely the Royals, as they were the first team I ever rooted for. I’d be more than happy to split 4 titles between any 2 of them.

I read the OP to mean that these are your choices:

(A) Your No. 1 team wins ONE championship

(B) Your Nos. 2-5 teams EACH win a championship OR a total four among them

Option (A) doesn’t get your No. 1 team four championships.

I love my Packers, but given we won a Super Bowl relatively recently I would sacrifice that for what I want more than anything (And honestly will probably never, ever happen).

I want my beloved Ball State Cardinals to win a Championship. Prefferably in a power sport like Basketball or Football, but at this point I’d take anything.

And since I bank three other teams: Dolphins Super Bowl, A Brewers World Series, A Wisconsin Nat’l Championship.

Easy choice for me… The Cubs last won a World Series in 1908. My other favorite teams (Bears, Lakers, Florida Gators football and basketball) have already all won championships in my memory. I’d love to see the Cubs win just once.

Seeing that my teams are the Orioles, Maryland Terps (basketball), Redskins, Wizards, Caps, in that order, I’ll take anything. But it could be worse.

My favorite team is the NY Yankees and my 2nd favorite is the Pittsburgh Steelers. Both have plenty of championships. 3rd and 4th are the Brooklyn Nets and NJ Devils (who have 3 Stanley Cups). I would take a combined 4 championships from my 2-4 teams, as long as the Nets win at least 1 of them (or whatever number it takes to have more than the Knicks in the same time time period).

One.

1967 was a long time ago.

Most favorite team - The New York Jets.
Next 4 - Mets, Knicks, Islanders, and Syracuse Basketball.

I was born in 1970, so all of these teams have won a championship in my lifetime except the Jets. (The Knicks did it, but I am too young to remember.)

I would give my left arm to see the Jets reach the Super Bowl, let alone win it.

I am going to go somewhere and cry now.

It depends on the distribution. The Dodgers (my favorite team) haven’t won a championship since I was a kid. The Indians haven’t won a championship since I’ve been a fan (or in my lifetime, for that matter). The LA Kings have won 2 of the last 3 Stanley Cups.

So if it’s two for the Kings and two for the Indians vs. one for the Dodgers, I’d probably take Kings/Indians. But if it’s four for the Kings and none for the Indians vs. one for the Dodgers, I’m gonna choose the Dodgers.

While the drop off between my favorite team and #2 is long, and I definitely would want them to win more than any other team winning, I had a different thought about this hypothetical. I’m in LA so I support LA sports teams. That means my 2-5 favorite teams would be Clippers, Dodgers, Kings, and I dunno, Angels I guess. Having my region win 4 championships within the span of a couple years would be terrific for the area, even if I still love the Lakers more than the rest of them combined. If my favorites were in other cities around the country, however, I’d do the 1 championship thing
