At most I have only two teams. But really, probably 1 1/2.
I like the Steelers and always root for them.
If I have to pick a college team, I like PSU. But I’m not passionate about it. (OK, I suppose I’m not really passionate about any sports, but I do enjoy NFL and am consistent.)
Mets winning the World Series. Though I’d settle for them winning the NL (as long as it’s not the Yankees they lose to in the World Series… again…)
Knicks winning the NBA title. Though at this point I’d settle for a team that can make the playoffs, have a positive average score to opponents’ score ratio and an average “points against” under 100…
Haven’t much followed football up until now, but I did watch the Giants in this past post-season, was amazed by Super Bowl XLII and have a Brother-In-Law who’s a major Giants fan, so I could be falling into some vague alignment here.
If the University of Georgia ever gets to hold up the crystal football again, I’ll be a very happy man. I don’t watch many sports aside from that, although I admit I’d probably buy a bottle of cheap champagne if the Thrashers ever did anything worthwhile.
Red Sox win the division, sweep the wild card winning Yankees, then LOSE the World Series in seven games to Chicago. Wha-wha-wha-WHAT?
It’s true, we’ve won it twice already, and for the past five or so years we (New England/Boston) have hogged all the winnin’. It’s made us quite incorrigible as sports fans, and as depressing as the Super Bowl was it was the reality check we probably needed. I love my Boston teams, love them, but I’m a fan of keeping the sport healthy even more. My teams don’t have to win in order for me to enjoy a really good game.
And let’s face it, Boston sports fans are famous for their bitching and complaining, not their “neener-neener-neener” face.
I really am a baseball fan so I want the Tigers to go all the way. But I had season tickets for the Lions for 30 years before I couldn’t take it any more. Can’t we have one good season of NFL in Detroit.Just one.
