For those not familiar with the SG stones: It’s basically these stones that allow the users to trade bodies with each other. In the series, it’s usually done over great distances.
As to the thread: No worries of STDs or getting pregnant.
Myself: I don’t think I’d care. Especially if it meant helping a loving couple reunite for a brief time. Hell, as long as there is no worries of STDs, I don’t think I’d care even if it were for a meaningless romp.
Interesting idea there though. If a virgin uses the stones and the person occupying the virgin’s body has sex, is the virgin still a virgin?
Sure, the body has been used for sex, but the person has not had the experience or even made the decision to have sex. Yet, in many cases sex and virginity are tied to the physical body. The rape of an unconscious person is still rape, even though they are unaware of the activity.
Seems to me that sexual activity would have to be discussed before using the stones.
As for the OP’s question, as long as std’s and pregnancy issues are off the table, I could care less. So long as they shower afterwards. One of the more interesting but unexplored ideas of Stargate Universe was the need for intimacy by people separated from loved ones, and how the stones and different bodies changed that.
One question I have is, does everybody else know that it’s not really me in my body at the time?
Returning to deal with somebody (or somebodies) who is under the impression we’ve had sex whan we actually haven’t could be… complicated.
And, I wouldn’t want somebody doing my wife while she thinks it’s me.
So, I guess you can go nuts as long as you stick to two rules: Full disclosure and my wife is off limits.
Let’s say someone on the ship wanted to swap with me here on Earth, and take my body surfing, or rock climbing. While I’m stuck on the ship dealing with the foul odors, the doppleganger breaks a leg.
Thanks, Ace. Want to wreck my car, too, while we’re at it?
For those of you who say you wouldn’t care, does that mean you wouldn’t care if (in the real world) someone did something sexually to your body while you were unconscious? If not, what’s the difference?
Consent. If, for some reason, I gave permission that they could do that sort of thing while I was unconscious, it would be the same thing.
I thought the unnamed personnel who donated their corpus to someone across the universe so they could spend some time with their loved one were among the unsung heroes of Stargate Command.
Of course, it came with the perk of a short trip to the other side of creation, so I, for one, wouldn’t need much to talk me into it.
Apparently one of the worst things for victims of burgularies is the “dirty” feeling of knowing someone has been through your stuff.
I think that for the S.G "messengers ", the psychological problems would be a whole lot worse .
I think that the mere knowledge that someone else has been inside your body would feel creepy and distasteful, let alone if they’d used it for sex.
