The Steelers bought 3 elephants and a clown car

This to further their transition to a full-time circus act. How in fuck’s sake are they still in the news almost daily with this shit-show version of “I’m a tween drama queen*” performed by multi-millionaires and professional executives? We just had a Super Bowl (arguably, anyway, as it looked more like a punting contest with all the excitement of watching paint dry, with the paint being a sort-off eggshell light beige) and best I can tell there are about as many articles about the Steelers as about the Rams. The season is over, and like Christmas decorations, the Steelers should be neither seen nor heard until it is the next season. I am pissed at every flicker of hope I had throughout this last season, only to have it sniffed out by ineptitude, immaturity and intemperateness. I should have had at least 6 months of quiet out of these fucks/my beloved Steelers, so I could at least try to imagine them hanging their head in shame. But no, every fucking day there has to be tweeting, some sad attempt to be clever and cryptic, failing before the last emoji is even entered. Go get drunk, go get laid, go get enlightened if you must, but for the love of god just shut the fuck up.

*”Queen” used because it rhymes with “tween” and thus enhanced the flow. FWIW.

Try following the Redskins. As a Steelers fan, you really have no idea what a true NFL shit-show looks like.

Not sure what footing the Raiders situation is on. At least they’ll no longer be in that sewage-y Oakland Stadium. Mark Davis’s hair, alone, should bring down the entire franchise.

Why don’t they just go ahead and move to Vegas for a season or two? They can make do at UNLV, which is still a larger stadium than the one the Chargers play in, and start to build the local fan base etc.

You’re crying about one bad season? Try being a Bengals fan. Talk about pointless. Our owner has complained about going to the playoffs because he loses money.

I’m not crying about the season. At least not here. I’m bitching about the incessant cries for attention, and heavy handed attempts at negotiating by certain players and the (currently wrongly) vaunted Steelers organization. I just want them to shut up. Unfortunately, I don’t have an “ignore” function on my newsfeeds.

Sam Boyd stadium is reportedly not up to NFL standards and would require significant upgrades, i.e. tens of millions of dollars, to be used even as a temporary NFL stadium.

But the Chargers’ soccer pitch is?

Like I said, just make do. It’s only for a year or two. The place works for UNLV. And consider the alternatives, whatever those may be.

QFT.

Also, the Raiders want to make a grand entrance into Las Vegas with the new stadium.

Apparently Davis (who’s no better than his father) already knows people will come to see the stadium, not his lousy team.

There’s probably rules about having to have luxury boxes and locker rooms of such extravagant opulence as to embarrass an oil sheikh.

I cannot ascertain why the Chargers are even allowed to play in their silly little soccer stadium on a temporary basis, because the NFL has a size limit of 50,000 seats even for temporary venues (which UNLV’s stadiium also doesn’t reach.) Frankly, I don’t understand why the Chargers did this at all, because except for the owners, basically no one else in the world, including people in Los Angeles or the rest of the NFL, wanted them to. I see the logic behind the Raiders moving to Vegas (which was their second choice) and the Rams returning to LA, but the Chargers thing just baffles me; they barely even saved any money on the stadium deal, because they had to pay the NFL $550 million to relocate. Leaving San Diego was a questionable move, and choosing LA as their destination is not going to work out well.

I thought Dean Spanos moved his team from San Diego to LA for the same simple reason Donald Sterling did it with the Clippers - ego and (perceived) glamor. Now he owns an *LA *team, baby! The big time! Hollywood and hot wimmen! Except he hasn’t yet realized that nobody cares.

As someone who was expecting the Dodgers to win the Super Bowl, I . . . have no idea what you’re talking about.

Is there some reason the NFL can’t afford that?

Why couldn’t he have just followed Art Moreno’s lead, and changed their name to The Los Angeles Chargers of San Diego? Makes about as much sense.

Ultimately, the fact is that the NFL does not have a viable home in Los Angeles. We* don’t have any need for professional football in the region, because we are fundamentally decent people, and football (at any level of play) is NOT a fundamentally decent way to pass the time.

*Yes, I DO take it upon myself to speak for the great mass of human beings residing in the greater Los Angeles Metropolitan region l. I do so because I am willing to take on the responsibility for that action. If the planet is obliterated on account of my directive being implemented, anybody who wishes may put all the blame on me, personally.

Why should they? They’d be spending a lot of money on only one team (out of 32) unnecessarily.

The Raiders could have remained in Oakland. Or, knowing they would be leaving, they could have made better arrangements ahead of time. Or they could pay for stadium updates themselves. The NFL itself (or the other 31 teams in the league) shouldn’t have to deal with it or pay for the mistakes of one ownership group.

There are several valid reasons to criticize the NFL. This isn’t one of them.

Indeed. I’ve actually started to enjoy the fact that every single time the Redskins post something on Facebook, all the “Fire Bruce Allen" memes come flooding in. It won’t actually happen, but it does feel good.

I’m a Lions fan. No Super Bowl appearances, 1-12 in Super Bowl era playoff games, and there’s that pesky oh-fer season.

Cry me a river.

Well that and you have two [del]semi-pro[/del] major college teams in the metro area to feed the indecent appetites for football that absolutely don’t exist in the city.
