The Straight Dope Easter Egg Hunt!

Okay, these are the rules.

You post clues about where your egg is hidden, and the Dopers have to guess where it is. If someone wants to keep track of how many eggs each poster finds, then you get a “prize.” (I don’t know, a virtual box of chocolates?)

Anyway, I’ll start.

My egg is hidden in the Central Florida area, at a landmark that is closing its doors today after 67 years.

Is “Cypress Gardens” close enough, or is it someplace specific therein?

I’m Tampa(ish) - Plant City, if you want to get technical.

My egg is near a statue (of a film character) that the Philadelphia Museum of Art was uninterested in adding to its collection.

I found twickster’s egg on the pedastal of the Rocky Balboa sculpture in front of the Spectrum.

Dang. Shouldn’t’ve given the “of a film character” clue.

Got it in one, Bunnylady. Your turn.

PS: Isn’t it a bit sad about Cypress Gardens? I understand they only announced on Thursday they were closing. No more ladies in hoop skirts and parasols, no more water-skiing pyramids.

I hid my egg in a domed building that recently had a 20-foot statue of a Native American, pointing his bow and arrow at the North star, atop of it. One more hint, the dome is green weathered copper.

Dopers are smart. I knwo they won’t find this one too obscure…will they?

I hid my egg on top of a granite rock that’s only half there.

runner pat, is it on top of Mt. Rushmore?

Probably Half Dome (Yosemite NP).

Half Dome is correct!

Well darn runner pat, I was wrong. But it was a good guess. I was reasoning that Rushmore is granite and they blasted/carved half of it away to make the faces.

Pout, sniff Nobody has guessed mine yet.

I hid my egg on a large monolith, which is also a sacred site.

Baker, did I find an egg in the Kansas state capitol building ?

It’s on Uluru.

Let see if anyone can guess mine. I hid my egg in the oldest tree on the east coast, and here’s a hint…it’s not in D.C.

Would that be the capitol building in Topeka, Kansas?

I hid my egg by the longest snake in the U. S.

Did you hide it on one of the faces on Stonehenge?

Goo got there first Zyada! It is indeed in the Kansas Capitol Building.

Now I gotta work on the egg Tinkertoy hid. Trying to decide if the clue is literal or figurative.
