The super-special Sam Adams beer. . .

So did anyone get to try this (the 40 proof or whatever 2002 thing)? How was it? How much did it cost? I assume it’s not still available?

I didn’t hear anything about this year’s vintage of Sam Adams triple-bock. But with most beers of that strength (they are referred to as barley-wines) a few years of aging will improve their flavor. If the 2002 vintage is still fresh (as in brewed this year or last) then the alcohol taste might still be a little overwhelming.

This stuff is supposedly age-able. I had some about a month ago that my brother had aged for 4-5 years.

It was undrinkable.

And I loooooove beer. The thicker and meatier, the better.

Homebrew, I don’t think capybara is referring to the triple-bock. I know that Sam Adam’s made a special, one-time only brew of the most alcoholic beer ever, but still designed to taste good. It came in a 40 OZ copper container, or something like that, and cost over $100.00. If this is what triple-bock is, then I am in the wrong, but I remember hearing that this was a first-time/only-time kinda thing.

Here’s the once-in-a-lifetime Millennium brew and here’s the Triple Bock.
