I miss main streets of smaller cities and towns. You can’t just go for a walk in a suburban big-box complex and an empty, vacated downtown at night just doesn’t feel good. One thing I think about from my past (I’m 52) is the experience of getting out of a movie theatre at night, onto a busy downtown sidewalk and being able to walk a block or two for a meal or drink.

You can still do that in Wichita, Kansas. They even have one of those movie theaters where you can get food served while you watch the movie. That said, downtown Dallas pretty much shuts down completely at 8PM. Very annoying when I was in town for an anime convention and got hungry after Dealers’ Room closed.
