I liked The Thing and its very effective mix of paranoia and horror, although I wouldn’t say it’s a favorite movie of mine, and the creature sfx, as good as it was in 1982, looks a little amateurish these days. CGI has just moved too far ahead.

I’m going to watch this sucker. I loved the original The Thing, and I love Alien, so why do I have trouble with this one?
Of course I’m also recording it, too, in case I wuss out at some point. I am home alone, after all.
The Thing has been playing everyday non stop for a month and a half. I love it and have it going on the background often. But to this day I have no idea what they were even doing at the National Science Institute Station 4 in the first place.

Are there other horror movies of the “predator kills a group one by one” kind that are equally good? Note that I said “equally good”, I know there are plenty of horror movies that involve a predator killing a group one by one.
