The Thread Were LIONsob Comes Out Of The C

Cage that is. After 23 years LIONsob is back on 2 wheels. I learned how to ride a bike before I learned how to drive a car and rode for almost 15 years before my late wife Ayesha and I were sideswiped on the freeway while out for a ride in 87. After the wreak Ayesha said no more bikes and I went along to keep peace in the household. Flash forward 23 years, kids grown and Aye has past on so all the reasons not to ride are no longer valid, found a good deal on a used 95 Honda Nighthawk750 last month. Picked up a new full face helmet before I test rode and purchased the bike. One thing I am going to do differently this time is wear more protection than just a skid lid, a new set of armored kevlar riding gear was just delivered to my door by the FedEx man so now I am all setup to burn some asphalt.
Peace
LIONsob

If you feel you gotta, or just really wanna get back on that horse, you go for it, and safe riding, fella.

God DAMN, it is good to see you back.

May the wind be at your back and the open road before you.

I do, already put a couple of hundred miles on her to make sure, allways prefered to ride instead of drive and have 10s of thousands of miles under my belt on two wheels from when I rode in the 70s and 80s plus I am a lot older and a lot less bolder than I was then.
Peace

Hi Phouka, I never left just didn’t have much to say and prefered to lurk.
Thanks
Peace
LIONsob

Get your motor runnin’
Head out on the highway
Lookin’ for adventure
And whatever comes our way
Yeah Darlin’ go make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once
And explode into space

A book you might be interested in.

I suspect my husband will do the same if I predecease him. The sad part is I love motorcycles. Its just living in the city and knowing how badly the drivers of other vehicles deal with them on the road I’m not willing to risk it.

Enjoy LIONsob and may that subset of drivers stay far from your wheels.

My brother has said the biggest thing he envies you guys in Houston is your ability to ride motorcycles year round.

Paperbackwriter, Thanks for that link, I think I will be looking for that book asap.
Moonlitherial, I have found that when its your time, its your time no matter what you are doing at the time, riding a bike or hiding under the bed, dead is dead. One thing you might want to think about is that personal protection riding gear has improved by lightyears in the last few years and now composite armored kevlar riding gear is very affordable and will protect you from most of the worst injurys in a crash and many times allowing you to get back up and ride off if the bike is still rideable.
Little Nemo, tell him to come on down and join the fun.
Peace
LIONsob

He’s visited there a few times. If he could figure out a way to obtain a motorcycle to ride while he’s there he would.

As for relocating to Houston on a long-term basis, you don’t know my brother. He’s very much a country boy. He wouldn’t be able to handle living in a small town much less Houston.
