The Thumb Drive RAID Experiment

Kind of interesting, even if kludgy.

It’s interesting for a bit of a (relatively) cheap lark, but is being rendered a bit obsolete by the emergence of SSD units, which have the benefit of already working like standard hard drives (and thus RAID-able) but being completely solid state.

Some tech geeks at GT were cleaning out a closet and found a bunch of usb floppy drives. So they set up 12 of them in a RAID array using 1.44 meg floppy disks. They said it was slow and glitchy, but successfully geeky :slight_smile:
