The top 1% - the World over...

No, that’s JUST a thought implanted in your HEAD by the top 1% of the people IN the world who want YOU TO GET bored at what you perceive to be repetition but which is actually a unique INSIGHT.

Well, see, in a market economy, the price of a good or service is determined by the factors of supply and demand. Given equal demand for two goods, the one supplied in higher numbers will command a lower price.

Now, getting back to your example. Decent people, like our hard-working janitor friend, are a dime a dozen. They are in limitless supply. However, it really takes a special kind of asshole to run a multi-million business into the ground, wipe out his own investors, and then beg for special bail-outs from the Feds. These people have rare, specialized skillsets and abilities that your average plebe can only dream about possessing. The market rewards them accordingly.

Y’all do know that the very much respected Carl Sagan gave credence to the idea of “lizard people” in his much acclaimed book The Dragons Of Eden, right? Have a read about “the R-complex”, from page 62, and tell me that’s not where David Icke got his ideas about “reptilians” from.

A brief extract.

Wooooooooooooo… < cue Twilight Zone theme >

You don’t think “The Rich” of these countries actually live there, do you, unless the price of a small army to protect them is cost effective? They live in a global world; they can plunder countries from a thousand miles away.

Wait, you mean [del]the Jews[/del] [del]Illuminati[/del] [del]Lizard People[/del] “The Rich” can only plunder from a thousand miles away? I mean fuck, they’re Lizard People from outer space that can pass as human, right? Why not rule us from their home world light years away?

Yes. “The Market.”
God Bless “The Market.”

Alan Greenspan. Timothy Geitner. Larry Summers. Hank Paulsen.

God Bless they and their Trillions of American Taxpayer Dollars, One and All.

Oooooooops. Did/have we confused Socialism with Capitalism?

Oh…confusion…confusion…

It takes hundreds of thousand (millions and billions) of dollars and countless decades of education and the same decades of wisdom and life experience from coast-to-coast and continent-to-continent to convince the icky, lower class billions to BELIEVE your bullshit.

And YET… these Harvard-tied, Oxford-educated, politically-connected, oil-funded folks - world wide - keep on getting away with it.

Aren’t their lives and ours the better for it?

Leadership MATTERS!

Jeebus…

I wonder what level of wealth is required to be in the top 1% wealthiest?
What level of income to be in top 1% of earners?

I suspect that it’s not that high for a person living in the US or UK (or other developed nation). I wonder if lurking guest is in his hated 1%?

My thoughts exactly.

“…not that high…”

are you serious?

Multiple MILLIONS of dollars put you in the top 1%.

Would that be YOU? Or your friends? (You silly shit.)

Oh…wait…if you keep working hard enough with your multiple educational degrees and professional credentials and humble background…YES!..you too can rise higher…sort of like Donald Trump… or a credentialed Bill or Hillary Clinton (who SERVE the top 1%) or a friggin Henry Kissinger …etc.

Oh, and by the way, a Janitor does NOT serve as much of a “Public Servancy” as a Politician is so fond of exclaiming for themselves? As does a Teacher, or a Doctor or a Mother or a Father?

Jesus Christ! Get OVER your stratified selves!!

Cite?

If it helps perspective, The World Bank estimatesthat 1.4 Billion people live on less than $1.25 a day.

It’s a shame that simplistic buffoons like Lurking Guest distort legitimate poverty issues into juvenile incoherent ramblings.

Some things need the “hands on” approach. Although their current earthly representative seems to be fucking up on the PR front at the moment.

Have you got any facts to back that up?

To be in the top 1% you need to be in the richest 67 million people. That’s a lot of people.

I’ve got a lot of friends that I’m sure fall into that population.

Given that there are 10,000,000 millionaires (0.15% of world population), you don’t need to be a millionaire to be in the top 1%.

I’ll refrain from personal insults though.

A million is nothing to people in the top 1% of earners. Does anyone believe you can become a billionaire without being corrupted in some way?

Apparently so, Ivan.

Apparently we need “cites” to prove that only hundreds of millions of dollars put you in the top 1% worldwide.

(Who ARE these people on the “Smartest Message Board” on the net?)

Rhythmdal …keep on working…the marketplace will soon have you rubbing shoulders with the folks you idolize for the hard work and innovation that put them where you probably never will be. Your ‘betters’…in other words.

The “Market Place” has, of course, PROVEN those with the most money to be those the most worthy of the advantages money provides.

I’m sure there’ll be cites of benevolent billionaires coming out of our kazoos before long.

… and if the other thousands of “poor” uneducated clowns weren’t’ happy to buy into that legalised pyramid scam, well, then there would be no recession right now.
But, I guess, that when you where looking for a new computer, car, food etc… you try to get the best and cheapest price available, right?
Someone has to do the job cheap and get’s fuck all money, like your Janitor, so YOU can save money.

The other alternative is Communism, which does not work either.

Humans are greedy little buggers, like most mammals. The only difference is, that we replaced the bigger club with money… now some little smug ass with a shit load of money,* that I could easily punch in the face and fuck his women, who gladly will, since I would provide better protection than that clown,* can tell me what to do and when to do it…* he also fucks this top-model bimbo, that would normally not give a shit about him*

Ooh, I’m so angry right now, I could kick a 3-legged puppy!

The sheiks, the presidents, the crusty brethren of the guys who manage the world—no matter what country, no matter what continent, no matter what form of government—the top 1%-ers: who are they? Those folks who, in their families, own the treasure. They own us. On every continent, in every circumstance, the millionaires, the billionaires, in every country and on every continent, they rule.

There is, apparently, no moral code, no humanity, greater than cash, greater than assets. I guess the whole of the world agrees to this, since every country on every continent under every form of government have let the folks with [a lot of money] rule. Oh, wait: [twice as much money] is what funds wars. Oh, wait: [slightly less money than the first instance, but still a lot] is what makes the assets of the ruling class convince the lower and middle classes that they, too, may one day be millionaires or billionaires. And the poor middle classes buy it, the world over. The masses keep working and working and working, in every country and on every level of government and knowledge, to keep on enriching a class of folks who believe the billions beneath them deserve to struggle. And why is that?

Just copyediting the OP to see what it looks like in complete sentences.
